My two year old cat got hit by a car this morning and died. Sorry, I know this isn't relevant to anyone else, but I'm totally devastated

ugh geez man f'n straight horrible
i lost a cat to feline leukemia back in the day and another from old age about 2 years ago
both had to be put down and what a horrible experience it is saying goodbye
i can only imagine the pain i would feel from what you just went through
well you just gotta rest with the notion that up in kitty heaven or wherever - you are thanked for your companionship and care for the lil guy
bummer

Thanks man. I mean she was only two, and so happy the morning I let her out. I wish I didn't. Another mistake to live with, I guess. Thanks for your words, I appreciate it. I know most people dismiss this as being just a cat, but I am so upset.

I'm so sorry to hear that man, it's a shitty feeling...
But, I was in a hurry when I opened up this post, supposed to pick up the kid from kindergarten - and just read through on the fly - and thought that it was a kid that got hit instead of a cat (!!!!) - my stomach froze and I was feeling sick for 3 hours - came back now to write something up and re-read and saw it was a cat... phew... well... still sorry for the cat...

Re: :(
oh i just love animals.
and my 2nd cat that died of old age.....i really don't care if people think i'm crazy when i say i literally saw god through his eyes.
hard to explain - i just saw so much love in that ocean of blue eyes he had.
my man! (pours a lil liquor for my homie).
i even went to far as to have him cremated. he sits in the living room with me to this day =P
pande - isn't your kid younger than mine?
my kid starts "pre-K" next week!
crazy stuff....time flew

Re: :(
Seedy, my kid is 20 months old now, he's going in kindergarten since he was 14 months old,
they have special programs here for this early-early age.
(there are even babies going since 8 months old, but that seemed a little extreme to me)
The real kindergarten (over here at least) starts around 30 months old, but we liked to start him early, it's good for socialization and real-life situations - as opposed to being safe and sound with mommy and daddy all the time
And I have to say the program is really good and he learned some stuff that we simply could not teach him, some because we simply do not have enough time, and some simply because they can not be taught by parents
It's super awesome having a little dude around, new stuff that make me laugh to tears happen every other day
I know pets are fun, but make some kids people - it's way way more fun
It's like having a dog/cat that slowly learns to talk and do more complex things

Re: :(
ok so you are just using that word differently.
for us kindergarten starts at age 5 when they enter grammar/elementary school
yeah i mean before the kid you know it's bigger better etc. than a pet
so much i knew about being a parent beforehand....and i was right!
but dang if there isn't JUST a *feeling* and change within that you can never perceive without actually being in those shoes.
my life completely shifted gears.
so blessed to have a really awesome and healthy kid
pure f'n joy

Thanks for your words guys. I know people think I'm over-reacting, but I'm a complete wreck now.
