Shaft - right now on TV. Blaxploitation rules! Guns, heists, car chases, cool leather jackets, cool soundtrack, puts me in the right mood for the new AA record...

I very rarely watch live TV, but the series Lucy and I are working through at the moment are Carl Sagan's Cosmos, Jonathan Creek and the 1980s version of The Twilight Zone.

Was about to continue my Matrix journey with The Matrix Reloaded but a good documentary just started on TV - In the Shadow of the Moon.

I too almost never watch TV,
even documentaries, if I see something I like go to Wiki and then download it and watch it in peace with no commercials
@Ross: COSMOS is amazing, its standing against the time as a TV-documentary, and the most amazing thing is - it will get a sequel in 2014
- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cosmos:_A_ ... me_Odyssey
right now, well, right now all the good sci-fi series ended so I watch some decent series waiting for the next sci-fi film / series...
Series:
- Falling Skies - yeah I forgot this one, it's a decent sci-fi, the story is i bit wobbly but its developing some decent lines...
- Magic City - Miami mafia 1959, very well done.
- Under The Dome - a new mystery series from Stephen King, its... not bad, I never did admire King a lot... we'll see, just 6 episodes in...
- also waiting for new seasons of Star Trek TNG on the HD remasters, they really did a fine job and the lots of effects and photographies are re-touched and really remastered.
Movies:
- Pacific Rim - saw it at the cinema, huge robots fight enormous monsters - what's not to like - on a more serious note, this movie is actually well done.
- Oblivion - the new sci-fi movie with Tom Cruise (yeah, he sucks - but the movie is awesome) - the photography and the directing are really spot-on. Some say it's some king of a rip-off of The Moon (2009), but it's more of an homage to movies like 2001: A Space Odyssey and all those movies that have 1 actor in the frame 90% of the time, including The Moon (2009) which is pure art-form of a movie.

Is that "cosmos" documentary where the samples from the last MPB-vol. are from? (You know, like "We invite you to a journey through the cosmos..." or so) Sounds interesting, although I find a lot of those "Space"-Documentaries on the local Doc-channel here quite formulaic, relying too much on CGI-animations trying to impress the audience(although I find myself sometimes watching with the sound turned off and rather listening to FSOL or The Orb instead ) I sometimes wish there would be less "entertainment" and more scientific facts (btw. I hate the term "docutainment" thats often used for stuff that's aiming more for an audience that wants to be rather entertained than really learn something.)

Well, Dennis, COSMOS is THE space-documentary.
It's made in 1980 and still the best in it's genre - a few came close but none above...

- also, check out the soundtrack on that wiki page
I highly recommend for watching.

It's not just about space either, it tries to cover pretty much all known science.

Breaking Bad season 5. Although we're having a hard time getting motivated to finish it. They could have left it at Season Four. I don't need every loose end explained and tied up.

One of my all time favorite movies.
Great script, great actors, legendary scenes!
The Big Lebowski is pure artwork.
The Jesus in bowling alley scene - I've watched this 300 times literally - And I will now again
- and because the scene is not complete, I have to post the extended scene
YOU SAID IT MAN, NOBODY FUCKS WITH THE JESUS.
