New EP, Captures, out 5th November

Post by Enofa »

Highly Limited on Light Blue Vinyl
A sneaky Ep before next year New FSOL Album
now available for Pre Order...............
Image
1. Fentanyl
2. Leafy Suburbs
3. Being Human
4. Human Beings
5. Slow Moving Carcass
6. Out of View

Subtitled pre8 8001 epA / pre8ep001, this is either a 'lead single' from Environment 8, or more likely an EP of material from the sessions. E8 will be out next year.

Blue 12" and digital download.

This is the first proper FSOL EP in a very long time. We've had some digital bonuses, a few remix 12"s and an early Archives best of, but in terms of a bunch of new tracks under the FSOL name, am I right in thinking this is the first since We Have Explosive?

Yup, E8 will be out in 2025. Although whether it'll be a conventional album... well, at this point that doesn't seem so likely.

Would Gigantic Globular Burst count as an EP ?

I have literally no idea what Globular is. 'Soundtrack', I suppose. Shortform makes it feel vaguely EP-ish, though.

Yeah, we've had some decent covers in recent years, but Buggy's work is such an integral part of FSOL that they're just not in the same league. Hopefully he'll return one day!

haha i love how even this is a "pre e8" ep. everything hiding behind environments. curious to see what its like though, i've enjoyed recent calendar tracks so things seem to be moving toward my taste again, hoping this is another good one.

FOMO, and the fact that my FSOL LP collection is pretty near complete at this point, made me grab the vinyl. I'm sure it'll be totally worth it though, as I've really loved what they've been up to in the last 10 years.

Clips of the first two on Juno:
https://www.juno.co.uk/products/the-fut ... 051863-01/

Fentanyl, starts choral and goes into crunchy IDM breaks (edit: last track from Mind Maps 5!)
Leafy Suburbs, acoustic guitar and skittery beats

I'm getting very slight Dead Cities vibes from them.

Listening now on the train from Exeter to London (got a Cure ticket 🖤)

Opening strains of Fentanyl very lush. And now the dark beat starts.
Liking it thus far!

Yep, nice EP that.
Needs a couple more listens to get the nuances, but first impressions are impressive!

Looking forward to getting my physical release!
