Re: Principles of Motion reissue 29th April
great to see this one reissued, one of the early records that has really stood the test of time, still sounds totally fresh
Re: Earthbeat CD reissue
Great comp!
I compared the overlapping tracks with the Mental Cube EP and noticed that the speed is significantly faster, to the point that the pitches are noticeably higher. I wonder which one is "correct"? That's probably a fundamentally silly question in the FSOL sphere.

Re: Earthbeat CD reissue
most likely on the EP Mental Cube is correct... on the Earthbeat compilation, probably the version for Earthbeat, due to the fact that there was not enough space (on physical media) for full versions, some tracks accelerated, others clipped (fading) - I think in vain, I thought that it would be logical to restore tracks from vinyls (`91-92) and include the full versions in the collection on the reissue 2022... unfortunately, they say little has changed since the 1992 edition, maybe someday a digital version with my wishes will be released (and also in digital and "Mind Maps 1/2/3...")
Papua New Guinea 12"
The 1992 PNG 12" is being reissued as a hand-numbered run of 2,000. Otherwise the same art and tracklist as the original. Coming out in September.

The Pulse EP 12" reissue
(Blurb written by yours truly!)Released in 1991, The Pulse EP was Brian Dougans and Gaz Cobain’s first release for Jumpin’ & Pumpin’, a label they would become synonymous with. Showcasing their multi-alias approach, the A side features two slices of epic, rave-friendly techno from Indo Tribe. Meanwhile, the B side includes the first tracks they ever released as The Future Sound of London, including the melodic acid classic ‘Pulse State’. The EP spawned three sequels, and is now reissued for the first time in over 30 years.
Pre-order from Bandcamp, shipping 21st Sept.

By Any Other Name 3LP reissue
WeMe records are releasing a triple LP version of 2007's compilation By Any Other Name. Currently available to pre-order from their website: https://wemerecords.com/shop/fsol-by-an ... pre-order/
Re: Mental Cube - So This is Love 12" reissue
Santa Monica Mix has some nice bleepy synths that give the track an airier vibe, really nice. The Pacific Beach Mix is louder and punchier, with a pizz string melody leading things.
Nice to hear some alternate takes on the track and how it could have sounded if they'd chosen another mix.

Re: By Any Other Name 3LP reissue
Got this from Juno today--came surprisingly fast considering I live in the US.
The packaging is pretty basic--just the cover (not a gatefold) with the 3 discs tucked inside. LPs are housed in generic black paper sleeves. It does have the number stamped on the back cover.
Vinyl is well pressed, flat, and quiet. It sounds well mastered--definitely cut hot, but not too hot. The music sounds excellent!
Also noticed, the track order is different than how it appeared initially on CD:
Side A
1) Sightings (Mental Cube)
2) 1st Calling (Yage)
3) Across the River (FSOL)
Side B
1) Great Danger (Indo Tribe)
2) Corridor Im3 (Smart Systems)
3) She's So Automatic (FSOL)
Side C
1) Keep Walking (Mental Cube)
2) In a Cage (Dope Module)
3) Under the Rock (Yage)
Side D
1) Visual Attack (Smart Systems)
2) You Might (Smart Systems)
3) Garden Bridge (Yage)
Side E
1) We Bring It (Dope Module)
2) Kremlin Taped (Dope Module)
3) Travellers (Yage)
Side F
1) Just Look (Indo Tribe)
2) 831AM (Yage)
