What are you listening to?
Re: What are you listening to?
Sorry, I didn't really explain that did I!
Gong's classic "You" album was remixed in 1997 by a wide variety of electronic artists of the day: The Orb, Youth, System 7, The Shamen, Graham Massey/808 State etc. etc. It was a 2CD set listed as Phase 1 and Phase 2. In the liner notes it says You Remixed Phase 3 would be "coming soon" including remixes from Ken Ishii, Youth, Glo, Global, Doof and some surprises. It even had a catalogue number. Shades of the AA's Environments album and Lord Lucan...
Monstrous Bubble album Volume 3 included the Yamataki Eye remix of Master Builder, one of four remixes of that track on that album.

Re: What are you listening to?
Yeah, it was surprisingly consistent the remix album. There's a few tracks that have bugger all to do with the feel of the original which are a bit too in your face with a pumping beat, but it's a great album on the whole, as is the original You - less jibbering from Daevid Allen and more dreamy psychedelia from Steve Hillage and Tim Blake.

That just sounds good from your description, I might have to check it out.dell1972 wrote:Also listening to the amusingly named "Al Chemical's Lysergic Orchestra - Volume 2" by Alan Davey (ex Hawkwind bass/synth guy): An experimental semi electronic psychedelic album inpired by a trip to death valley.

Dementia and Hope Trails - Pure Magical Love
One of my favourites of the year. 90 minutes of really beautiful guitar ambience. Check here:

I found this lovely web from the most great program made by MTV,was nice and very flashback my mind into mid 90´s and first 00´s watching the intros videos...

Browsing into web you can find list of videos shown, info ,mp3 and some screenshots that i watched once

Thanks to Chillout zone i watched lot of times the Teachings From The Electronic Brain and many other great stuff from other, i still remember the first time that i seen "Widow licker"drunk & jointed in the middle of the night and horrible nightmares on my teenage mind by the Aphex grin video...
Re: What are you listening to?
My first touch to FSOL was seeing the Slider video on COZ.. I still remember that feeling "WHAT IN THE FUCKING HELL IS THIS?!?!"
I used to stay up religiously and tape all the videos I didn't already have. The 4 VHS tapes became so worn out that they pretty much became unwatcable.. I eventually donated them to my friend (unfortunately).
UNKLE - Unreal
Amon Tobin - Slowly
Aphex Twin - CTD & Windowlicker
Autechre - Second Bad Vibel
FSOL - Lifeforms / PNG
that's just a few of the memorable videos on regular rotation. Great, great times for me, when MTV still actually showed music.

Underworld - Dark & Long (Dark Train)
Just saw Trainspotting again recently, what a brilliant movie! And not just for its soundtrack
So glad there are subtitles, otherwise I would not have understood much of what they said with their Scottish accents.

Trainspotting is my favourite film. Love Skagboys, Trainspotting and Porno by Irvine Welsh too.
Leftfield - never liked them much.

Re: What are you listening to?
i listened to underworld's latest album (barking was it?)
and now i'm listening to "a collection"
oof i just have a hard time getting on with these vocals
the production is real nice and when they aren't singing i'm grooving along
perhaps just a bit too pop for me or something idk
