i stopped watching the olympics for many many years but this year i've been watching or at least have it running in the background while doing chores/playing with the kid yesterday
whish i could dig up the video by my ears tuned in immediately when i heard the opening notes of this free skate:
Ekaterina BOBROVA/Dmitri SOLOVIEV (RUS)
Music: Man With a Harmonica by Ennio Morricone [remix by Appollo 440]/Tosca by Giacomo Puccini [new arrangement]
harmonica
between 15-30 seconds
probably a sample you all know of
was news to me though and cool in the way it popped up
Little Fluffy Olympics

You need to check out Once Upon A Time In The West, bloody amazing OST -
For A Few Dollars More also has a rather famous soundtrack for sampling e.g the start of this:
Basically Ennio Morricone is a bloody amazing composer !

Probably the most famous thing sampled in Little Fluffy Clouds, aye. That Morricone piece is one of the greatest things I've ever heard. Good film, too.

I probably mentioned this a few times,
I've literally heard 180-190 soundtracks from Ennio and ZERO of them were bad, and about 90% of them were bloody brilliant!
His classical approach into modern ambient... how he just effortlessly makes melodies... he's one of the last masters of the trade.
You're doin' too much, do less.
