FSOLDigital Calendar
Re: FSOLDigital Calendar
Fascinating take on it - agree that it feels like it could be the first half of the track... my guess is the outro was considered the strongest part and returned to later.
Also, 12th January 2012 - really only a few weeks before the album was announced.
Really enjoyable, anyway. I always love the stuff with acoustic elements in the most, E4 is one of my all-time faves so always happy to get more from this era!

Been giving the 2023 album a proper listen lately, really enjoying this one. Nice amount of acoustic percussion and field recordings in there which is always up my street. Vertical Reflections has to be a dead cert for the next Music from Calendars comp if one comes along.

Re: FSOLDigital Calendar
I see there is a new May track called Buildings + Skies.
But I am not always getting an email to tell me a new track has arrived, and didn't for this month, but did last month. Anyone else getting this sporadic emailing??! Its a random dip into bandcamp, download the whole album, and see if a new one is there.

You can always just check the album page on BC to see if it’s there without downloading. But yeah, no email this month for some reason.

Wow. This is definitely one of those FSOL tracks where I would have never guessed it was them. Also one of the most accessible FSOL tracks ever?

If it wasn't for the Synthi in there, there's no way in hell I would have thought it was FSOL. Remarkable. Bit of a modern Orb vibe, actually.
Re: FSOLDigital Calendar
Somewhat surprisingly, a track from an old, oft-forgotten project...
For those subscribed to the FSOLdigital 2024 Calendar album the track for July is now available from the album's page:

Re: FSOLDigital Calendar
Yes, very surprised! A beautiful track. I need to go back and listen to the Four Forests album.
Re: FSOLDigital Calendar
My word the September 24 calendar track, A Way Home, is really really good. Ambient fantastico magnificence!! Easily my favourite of the year, one of the my favourite of all Calendar tracks.
Recorded 2023 @ 9 LW studios. I like that it is a "recent" 2023 era track.

Yesterday...
This is a fascinating one. You can really hear that this has come about pre-FSOLDigital, makes me wonder what an Amorphous-era FSOL album would have sounded like. Excellent track. For those subscribed to the FSOLdigital 2024 Calendar album the track for October is now available from the album's page:

Re: FSOLDigital Calendar
It's wild hearing a track from 2006. Everything between 98 and 07 is so interesting considering all they were working on and all that was happening during their "break".

Re: FSOLDigital Calendar
Apparently it was begun in 2001! I always prod Brian for info about that era because, like you, I find it really fascinating. It’s amazing to hear FSOL from the Amorphous years (although to be fair, at this point I think half of The Isness would end up on an Environment if it was recorded today).
