Re: Kitchen Suppliers North Wales

1. HOW are spambots getting through the FSOL related question?
2. Kitchen suppliers North Wales? Really? That's got to be a pretty small target market for spam.

Re: Off Land thread

Yeah, it definitely feels like an ambient techno album rather than an ambient one, which probably helps to draw me in a bit. But I think the key thing is the quality - there's not a note out of place on there (not that your other records are full of clunkers - but obviously I prefer some tracks to o...

Re: Off Land thread

I got this on Monday, gave it a couple of listens and I think this might be my second favourite Off Land release behind Anniversary. It feels really compact and to the point, in a way a lot of ambient music isn't. Excellent use of the beats and a good variation in the tracks. Really good stuff.

Re: FSOLdigital

The Lovers does indeed sound different, more like the 'Love is the Lover' remix on The Otherness, but even then I don't think it's the same. Maybe something from the scrapped 2008 version of The Isness. The Wheel of Life is a much more stripped down version, I'm guessing from the Prime World soundtr...

Re: Noel Gallagher/AA album thread

John's solo albums were mostly created during a period of extreme heroin addiction. I wonder if he even remembers recording them. He was one of my guitar idols in high school. Only 'Smiles from the Streets You Hold' was written during his heroin addiction. His debut was before those times and the e...

Re: FSOLdigital

So, has anyone else listened to The Fears and Fantasies of the Unconscious Mind, or are we all too bothered with the specifics of how it's been encoded?

Re: FSOLdigital

I'll stick my nose in and point out that FSOL are hosting these files themselves on their own servers, which might explain the preference for smaller file sizes. FLAC files are still quite large. I gave FSOLDigital Sampler 2 a listen. The two Environments 5 tracks are fantastic, ****** is particular...

Re: FSOLdigital

Thankfully it's pay day today so I'm off to buy... well, the sampler at least, I can't afford those prints sadly. The Environments one looks incredible!

Re: Pandemonium reviews - Humanoid Sessions 84-88

The Peel Session is available on the CD edition of Your Body Robotic. It's probably my favourite Humanoid stuff.

Re: FSOLdigital

Oh God, where to start? That sampler - Environments 5, Archive 7, Pygmy, plus In 2 Minds and EMS Piano and Light Senses definitely on their way - and The Bringers, The Field Recorders and Superheads (maybe a reference to Brian's first band The Heads?), who are they? And The Woodlands of Old Outtakes...

I think I paid about £8 for mine when I was 12. Needless to say my friends at school thought I was a nutter.

Re: Cascade single

As far as I know, the only differences between the UK and US versions are minimal artwork differences (the UK comes in a slim-line Maxi single case, the US in a full album-style jewel case, and the fonts are different sizes). I want to get a copy of the UK one as I think the cover looks better in th...
