FSOL Production Techniques

Going to start this thread by asking you guys to elaborate (in detail if possible) on reverb treatment by FSOL on the main break from Dead Skin Cells. Thanx in advance.

I wonder why ISDN is always left out of top FSOL records. This album is insane and has influenced me no less than those toppers previously mentioned.

The second track sounds like Boards Of Canada, or vice versa :)

Re: It's been a very long time

Hi Dimitri! Welcome back! I think most of the FSOL techniques are beyond me. I'm not sure what Brian's modes of working are these days. Seems like he's got a pretty custom setup for the studio wizardry. I'm still around, making music :) :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12NFlnOHLYQ Tim, you are lo...

Re: It's been a very long time

Yeah, I get your point. I tend to study by listening, and surely one of the aspects of FSOL's music that attracted me in the beginning is that it reminded me of pop rock structured music, intro, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, outro type of thing. But it gave me the feeling of old school hip hop appr...

Re: It's been a very long time

Thanks so much for replying brother! It means a lot. Ive really missed this place and you guys, it felt great back in the older days to be a part of something greater than yourself, and FSOLboard is without a doubt where my journey into creating and releasing electronic music took place. The support...

Re: Yage Translations

Thanks for sharing. I just actually discovered that the word Yage means "ayahuasca", even though most likely pronounced differently: according to wiki - yagé (or yajé, from the Cofán language or iagê in Portuguese). A very pleasant piece of music in general, not very fond of sitar playing ...

It's been a very long time

Hi people. Yeah, its been a very long time since I participated on the Forum. I suppose I needed to disappear for some time to figure out things in my personal life. However Future Sound of London never disappeared from my life and its been my driving force over the last 2-3 years to get back into m...

That's a pity. I would have wanted to have their art accompany me in these hard times.

Re: FSOLDigital Calendar

A kind of a silly question, as Im left behind. Is that an actual calendar for purchase, or just an album? Are FSOL selling their stuff on bandcamp instead of fsoldigital?

Re: Music Archeology

I think people who love music should dig deeper and find the actual story behind a composition in order to understand what it is they are actually listening to and how and why it was written. At least that's what the Russian music teachers tought me when I lived in Soviet Union. They would actually ...
