Tone’s Stately Box

Originally released as a bonus album for those that purchased the CD version of Last 5am Tired Eye, Tone's Stately Box was the band's exploration into darker territories, along with their first experimentation of mastering onto tape as an aesthetic (later revisited on the 2008 album Small Mercies). Featuring tracks that didn't quite fit into the Last 5am theme, this album of 'offcuts' actually became the band's favourite of the two on release due to its cohesive tone and collection of short but well defined narrative moments. Running at just over an hour, the album features field recordings from a variety of continents and plays on the themes of isolated night-life and feverish memories.
