I think that photo is from 2006, from that mini-cinema studio where they experimented with surround sound.

It's the October issue. I can see the article on the preview version digitally on my phone though the text is too small to read in the preview. Looks like they talk to Brian about the studio too, though that section looks brief. Will get it later digitally

Here we are, full interview in the press section. Capitalisations as per the article. No idea why FM like to pretend music genres are proper nouns.

Typically with Gaz, he skirts around the topic on most of the tracks, simply using some as a starting point for a related story. Elsewhere, it feels as if the track titles have just been inserted into a long reminiscence by Gaz. There's some really lovely stuff in there, though, and as ever it's great to get more background info on the band in the '90s, and FSOL in general. Some snippets and thoughts:

Old information stating "Environments 5" is 'enhanced' old material - I wonder when they decided to change the name, and simply state that it's all new.

Two full versions of Lifeforms scrapped before they did the final one? What I'd give for one of those!

Love the Ozrics story about 'Flak'.

"I don't give a fuck if you don't like 'Lifeforms'. It's a miracle you even liked 'Papua New Guinea'" - new favourite Gaz quote.

Spot the glaring errors in the 'try these' section, particularly regarding Accelerator.

Three Imaginary Boys is a really strange recommendation for an 'epic' post-punk album that inspired Gaz. How about some Chameleons or early Cocteaus?

It's a good interview though as you say he's just generally talking about the era rather than the individual tracks. I was hoping there's be more about the new version of Lifeforms. The mpb oz release sounds intriguing. The ozrics story is great! Missing from the press section is Brian's contribution, which is very techie and involves him listing a lot of gear. He stated they used his Dad's EMS Synthi AKS, which was one of the first ten ever made. "Some of the big 'farts' come from the EMS. We didn't overuse it. I spent several days going through it, sampling it, and then putting that on DAT."
