Glass Girl - What's It All About

This looks like a real mystery item:

‘Back in 1983 my dad said – “hey theres someone else nearby making electronic music why dont you go and see him?” – so I did. Sadly he was away on holiday however I did buy this tape from his mum – recently I found it again and tried to track him down even asking friends in Glasgow to visit his house – nothing – no trace – where are you? - A fantastic blend of electronics and soundscapes – especially when you think this was recorded in 1982/3 – enjoy’ – BRIAN

They could keep up a two-release-a-week schedule for the next couple of months easy. My wallet hopes they don't, obviously.

Very Zeebox-esque. They're definitely making it hard for me to not buy any music this year - damn those prolific guys ....

Yeah, this is absolutely wonderful. Gorgeous chunky analog sounds and nice spoken samples. Sunriser is ridiculously good.

I agree about Sunriser, really good track. The whole thing has a fantastic thick sound to it. I guess it does sound pretty Zeeboxy in places, with all the textural sounds. Still, very difficult to imagine the recording is over 30 years old.

I do clearly remember the opening track from the EBS series. Wonder what's up next?!

Yeah that Meat Track sounds like John Carpenter. The cover also with the no faces looks a bit like Boards of Canada Music has the right to children. I love Tapes!

It's fairly obvious but I have to ask:
- This is not FSOL, right? This is Brian's mysterious neighbor making some weird advanced electronics...?

Apparently. It's all analogue and all the voice samples are Scottish, so everything fits. It might be the band trying to be obscure or mysterious, but I really doubt it.

I find it pretty hilarious that Brian's selling it. Hope he shares the profits with his childhood neighbor if he can hunt him down.

Do we really believe Brian's story? Sometimes I detect subterfuge...

This is why I believe it's actually something Brian did and he's done a naughty Rephlex type story behind the project

This doesn't really sound like Brian to me. Reminds me of early Human League/The Future maybe or dutch DIY industrial stuff from the Insane Music label of the time, Alain Neffe etc.
