Hello
I eas always wondering are there many tallented artist in the world with hard life before they become musicians. I would like to share the one's i know and would be glad to hear about your opinion and other stories.
Some information about Maheeda: "Maheeda is a Nigerian gospel singer with an unusual biography. She was a prostitute in her previous life, which she abandoned to become a musician. Born Caroline Sam on Nov 22 in Benin State, she began singing when she was 6 years old. When she was 13, her parents died, and in order to have something to live on she turned to the oldest profession. She is now happily married and doesn’t break her faith in Christ anymore. She lives in Lekki, drives a very big car and has a very loving and generous husband. Her first single came out in 2010, under the title Dutty Wine. It gained her two nominations in NMVA. Her big break came in 2012 with the song Je Ko Ma Roll. Maheeda is currently signed to Big Boyz Entertainment and Yes MAH Records. You really should see her stage act, it’s quite a show. She has Instagram, too. Check out her selfies there, you may be surprised…"

Delete the first post and let's talk about some music from the continent of Africa ;)

CK Mann from Ghana

I have this on a CD but the mix is slightly different, it being in mono and a bit fatter for it, still, a wicked beat.

Fela Kuti is one of the best from the black continent :)

Fatboy Slim made a fortune sampling him (blunt samples, not the good kind...)
