Unfortunately, I think Pete is right... about the cheap midi... it has some good moments, but it generally is cheap midi, sounds unfinished, productionless... and all that stuff :)

I really like the arrangement, some of the breaks from the main tune are gorgeous, definitely a creative version of it - but yeah, the production leaves quite a lot to be desired. Shame really.

I wish that Max Richter would re-record that piece because all of his other electronic / piano pieces have great production value.

Max was still a production-beginner back then...
I bet he'd do much better arrangement and production today :)

That is true. It wasn't until Blue Notebooks in 2004 where he used electronics again (and what an improvement)

Nah, there's a track on Memoryhouse ('Untitled', I think?) which is almost entirely electronic...

Always forget about Untitled because it's untitled and because it sounds almost the same as Arboretum.
