Feel free to shoot me down but I don't remember seeing this one. Professionally shot, who knows where, who knows when? Not sure it's very recent.

Wow, a good recording - finally :)

Thanks Dell - I enjoyed every minute :)
(gotta say though - Gaz sounds pretty bad on live vocals...)

Well, according to the pictures and snippets we saw over time, this is definitely Russia (Moscow) or Ukraine (Kiev)...

So, it's NOT the STEREOLETO FESTIVAL from 2003, nor AFISHSA PICNIC from 2004, they had different line-up then with Baluji on sitar and so on...

It could be the PARALLEL UNIVERSE gig from 2006 (was that even in Eastern Europe Ross??)

The best guess is HERMITAGE GARDEN from 2008, Sufit was there, but the weird thing is there are no tracks played from the Peppermint Tree (released 5 months before HERMITAGE GARDEN gig).

It also could be the KIEV concert from 2009, Sufit was there also, but I think Gaz was wearing a different outfit...

Ross - thoughts?

OK, this is definitely Kazan, Russia - recorded 30.08.2008 - on the "Creation of Peace" festival.

Interestingly they've just posted a link to this on the AA Facebook page as Live in Russia. Also they've posted some pics Live in Arvika, Sweden. Gaz appears to be wearing a top hat! Not sure when that show took place though.

It should be in Russia, 00:30 FSOL (Amorphous Androgynous) is written on a Russian flag on the lower part of the screen.

Are they using us as some kind of investigative bureau?

I think they sometimes do use us for investigations :)

BTW, Gaz uploaded another video for a minute on his channel, called:

Noel Gallagher & the Amorphous Androgynous-SHOOT A HOLE INTO THE SUN- the making of
- studio footage of Noel Gallagher & the Amorphous Androgynous producing and co-writing SHOOT A HOLE INTO THE SUN at Paul Weller's studio

-- but removed it right away... I don't think anyone got to see it... damn it...

Why did he upload it anyway then, to delete it afterwards? ah these guys. Id love to have seen the vid, its my favorite piece of their transformations of Noel's songs.

I do sometimes wonder what would happen if this place and my site disappeared.

Nice footage, anyway, enjoying this a lot. Mello Hippo's always been a favourite so I always enjoy the extended live versions (although I prefer the Arvika one that was broadcast on Swedish radio). Gaz's vocals are fine in it - not quite so strong in All is Harvest, though.

I used to have that M-Audio controller that Gaz is using. Until I spilled beer on it. Whoops. That was an expensive waste of money. Can't help wondering what software he's using... there are obviously backing tracks going on, but he's also triggering samples with the controller.
Actually, it's going to be Ableton Live, isn't it?

One thing about these live performances is they really play into that idea of there being no definitive version of The Isness - the various live (and radio) versions of Mello Hippo seem to take in many of the available versions, whilst Elysian Feels seems to be a mixture of the final mix and the Abbey Road one here. If it wasn't for that bloody butchered version of Galaxial, The Isness & The Otherness really would be about as near to a definitive version it's possible to get. Oh well, maybe when the 20 year anniversary 5CD boxset version comes out.

Really gotta love the version of Explosive at the end.

Mello Hippo
The Lovers
Riders on Circadian Rhythms
All is Harvest (or Air, as it should be called)
Elysian Feels
We Have Explosive

Pande - Riders is from The Peppermint Tree :)

I saw that! Was on YouTube and got a notification about it. Then, "video has been removed by user". I was debating whether or not it was worth mentioning here. Hopefully it'll surface eventually.
