FSOL: Touched - Music for Macmillan Cancer Support
Re: FSOL: Touched - Music for Macmillan Cancer Support
I'm doing pretty well this weekend with the new Touched compilation. I haven't put it on repeat this time so far, just listening through in order - on track 64 now

Touched have news, 1 of artists removed their track and will be replaced by ....Humanoid track....more surprises for my loose heart!!!
Re: FSOL: Touched - Music for Macmillan Cancer Support
Blimey, they're saying it's a new and exclusive Humanoid track no less. Is the record label that requested the removal going to ask everyone to email the Brambles and Nest track back and make everyone promise to delete it? The horse has already bolted from the stable!
I've got about 40 tracks in so far, it's all pretty varied and contains some really good stuff. There is a bit of a tagging fiasco mind. On the flac version at least, every file after about track 90 is tagged as track 1, Truro by (ghost), so there's a whole world of manual retagging to be done, assuming I can't get it together to write a script to do it for me. Still, I'm determined to get to the end of this one!

If it's 'Track #35 Buspin Jieber - Electicity' that's been replaced then oops that might be my doing ....Tito Lozano wrote:Touched have news, 1 of artists removed their track and will be replaced by ....Humanoid track....more surprises for my loose heart!!!

I think I got about 80 tracks in by the end of Sunday night, but haven't had chance to listen to anymore since. Looking forward to adding the Humanoid track, will take our version up to 256 tracks then
I'm liking most of it so far, although there were a few tracks with vocals in the earlier part of the album that I wasn't too keen on. Vocals can make or break stuff for me sometimes. I do like most of the tracks with vocals, just a few didn't quite do it for me.

Really not a fan of the 2020k collab track (track 2), he did one for the previous comp as well. Sounds like someone doing a parody of Trent Reznor moody whispery angst-y lyrics but executing it really really badly.
Re: FSOL: Touched - Music for Macmillan Cancer Support
That track was recorded with Wet Eyes who I did a split with - apparently he was as surprised as me to find out he was on the album!
Re: FSOL: Touched - Music for Macmillan Cancer Support
Well the instrumentation really wasn't the issue at all (awesome linked track BTW!) but the vocals - maybe that's the track that is getting switched with the Humanoid one ?
Re: FSOL: Touched - Music for Macmillan Cancer Support
The Brambles & Nest track is the one being removed.
Re: FSOL: Touched - Music for Macmillan Cancer Support
Really - do you know why ? It's actually one of my fave so far (just reached the 'C's)
Re: FSOL: Touched - Music for Macmillan Cancer Support
They said on Facebook that their album release has been delayed so they wanted the track removing. Seems a slightly odd reason to me.

Re: FSOL: Touched - Music for Macmillan Cancer Support
so if you already bought the comp, you have to pay another Pound to get Brian's track?
play this backwards and you'll hear evil messages
Re: FSOL: Touched - Music for Macmillan Cancer Support
If you have it in your Bandcamp collection you should be able to download the whole thing again... which will be fun.

Sounds pretty good. Squelchy 303 line, slightly dubsteppish beats. This coupled with the new pieces on Your Body Sub-Atomic are a curious insight... I wonder if there's a new Humanoid record coming one day.
