Kris Weston Kickstarter album

I toyed with the idea of sticking this on a previous Orb topic, but figured it might get missed by some. Admittedly I'm pretty certain a good few of you are already aware of this, but a bit of extra publicity can't harm matters. I'm probably stating the obvious but Kris Weston/Thrash is/was one of the key members of the early Orb lineup, and this sounds intriguing.

If nothing I recommend reading it, as, if nothing he is quite amusing and I'm sure the music would appeal to most on here.
The album will only be available in this way.

Looks interesting.
Baluji is credited for sitar playing, the same one from the Isness/Alice/Peppermint sessions.

Some of those backer options are pretty cool. I'd want to go for the LP version of this but £100 is a bit too steep sadly.

No wonder he hated mastering Eventide Passage. Looks like he's more into Psychedelic than Electronic now.
I may end up backing it for at least the mp3s though.

Oh since you asked... (Keep in mind that he was forced to master it for his friend that was going to release the album initially.)... He thought the production was lazy and that I don't know how to make proper hihat sounds. Though now that I think about it, most of the hihats on the album were done by my friend Patrick who went on to lead the audio for this video game: ... :geek:

Kickstarter seems to be more and more the way to go, The Black Dog have attached their new "EP" with this, the connection is the music was made entirely on it:

I see Kris has ditched the Kickstarter website and in his own inimitable fashion, knocked up a homemade version of Kickstarter it on his own website and started again.

Here's Krisstarter:

If nothing else has come from this, we at least know where Alex got the drum sample for Little Fluffy Clouds from. Alex said he'd never reveal it. Someone asked Kris who wasn't so secretive...

A long and rambling tech Q&A session with him has been going on for weeks here in which he's revealed all sorts of stuff:

Cool thing to do from Kris, but that drum loop was spotted years ago...

As ever, finger far from pulse....

I sense there's not a massive amount of love for Alex in the man. Something to do with the way he calls him Twatterson...

Alex always came across like a bit of a knob so this fails to surprise me.
