I don't know the full story, but I know he's basically off doing his own thing, pretty much just out of touch with everyone now. There's no bad blood between him and the band though. You can tell the exact point he left, because all the Environments and Archives have the same layout on the back cover up to FTA7, then it all changes and becomes less uniform after he left. There were numerous photos he'd given the band that were used for a few more years, but even they only seemed to last until 2018.

It is a bit weird, given that he was pretty much the third member of FSOL, to the extent that the bit in the ISDN booklet where "Yage took offence and stalked out" is actually a reference to him rather than Brian or Gaz, and FSOL's reappearance in 2007 coincided with him doing artwork again. It's a shame he's not about anymore as he was clearly a key part of their visual identity, and while there have been a number of good covers since he disappeared, I'm not sure any of them feel quite as 'FSOL' as his do.

this explains a lot about the art. I like some of the new covers but they don't feel as iconic as the older ones.always liked the way the art matched the 'collage artist" approach of the music, the rituals cover in particular is just really odd... like where are the photos and atmospheres? just looks like some deepfake ai pictures. very futuristic I'm sure but not very original
