Back on topic, anyone else noticed they've replaced the banner at FSOLDigital with one that rotates between several different Environment Five images?

Also, if people are waiting for clips, it might be worth regularly checking back the pages at Juno and Boomkat, as I'm sure they'll be coming soon:

That's the first thing that I noticed :)
Looks cool too.

Someone is pushing their arm towards marketing - and it's a good thing, because I think the guys aren't into marketing at all, and if it's one thing I noticed/learned in my last two years of LIFE - nothing gets done without marketing... and I hate marketing too :)

not to derail again but I feel like OCD is a blanket term to mean a few degrees of severity

i feel something within me that fits the milder descriptions

i very much resist change - prefer things to be done the same every time. i'm very much into daily/weekly/monthly routines even if they aren't convenient or always make sense. ahem....my music collection......

i feel weird sensations of irritation i don't feel at any other time except when these ocd type "rules" are broken.
like an annoying itch kinda feeling whatever

SO....call it what you will - i think overall my point what that there is a degree of meticulous that i adhere to in life and i think fsol just follows suit with that whole line of thinking and living =P

That's the thing with modern medicine nowadays. Blanket term like you used is the key word here, as soon as someone is slightly different from what seems to be the majority of ordinary people, a label can and will be assigned.

OCD has become a blanket term through misuse. For example, a lot of the things Seedy is discussing - a meticulousness, a need for order and what seems like a tidiness - are, if anything, more connected to Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder (OCPD) than OCD.

The obsessive thoughts in OCD are almost always unpleasant, unwanted, and fill the person with deep fear and anxiety. The need for 'order' is out of fear that something terrible will happen without said order.

From here
OCD is diagnosed when the obsessions and compulsions:

Consume excessive amounts of time (approximately an hour or more)
Cause significant distress and anguish
Interfere with daily functioning at home, school or work, including social activities and family life and relationships.

Yep -

Actual condition vs. it's common day counterpart/misuse:

"OCD" - "I'm quite tidy, things alphabetised make them easy to find later"
"Depression" - "I get down sometimes"
"Dyslexic" - "Crap at spelling"
"Migraine" - "Moderate/Strong headache"
"Flu" - "Moderate common cold"

So many people quote the former condition when they have the latter symptoms, but those that actually do suffer from the former know just quite how different the reality of that condition actually is

I feel pretty sure that they'd flog that as a separate release that everyone could buy. I think the bonus EP will be some other out-takes from the Environment FIVE sessions. But you never know...

Low quality preview clips, anyone?
[+] Oooh and did you know that ...
So, Machines of the Subconcious is the only thing there which really resembles '90s FSOL from the sounds of it, maybe Somatosensory at a push. This really sounds like it's taking the new sounds from E4 and charging ahead with them. Lots of piano, some Tangerine Dream-y synths, lots of real instruments, field recordings, some lo-fi noises... Even more excited now!

Already broken my promise not to listen to them, but I'm now going to have to keep away from the page so I don't end up listening again and again, ha.

Must. Not. Listen.

I'm not going to do that this time, it really does ruin it when you listen to the whole thing in full. I'll certainly try my best not to give in...

Personally I don't have a problem with listening to (low quality) short previews of tracks before receiving the full version. Too short for me to judge whether or not the real experience will be ruined.

If anything it only makes the wait more difficult, which in this case it sure did :)
