All purpose reissues thread - latest: SX One Live Improvisations
Re: All purpose reissues thread - latest: Trip Maps
SX:One Live Improvisations is now on Bandcamp, with four extra tracks
Re: All purpose reissues thread - latest: Trip Maps
Totally forgot the original fsoldigital purchase contained 6 videos (The 4 tracks that went into the original release, plus Stochastic Process & SX-1 Berlin (which is presumably 'Berlin' in this reissue)). Do you know if if there's any way of 'upgrading' our original purchase to just get these additional tracks without buying the whole thing again ?Enofa wrote: Sat Sep 20, 2025 10:50 am SX:One Live Improvisations is now on Bandcamp, with four extra tracks

Tracks can be bought for £1.50 each. I haven’t bought it yet but my guess is Northern Point is an edit of the version on Multiple Angled Distortions, so the three additional tracks would only cost you £4.50.
edit: no, Northern Point is a very different mix.
edit 2: crossfades between some of the tracks, different running order, runtime now an hour. This actually feels more like a proper album than the original release, which was definitely ‘some improvs’.

Soddit, gonna grab the whole thing to support the man
If I want to hear the OG versions I can always watch the .mp4s and then keep this as the actual 'proper' album version

Re: All purpose reissues thread - latest: Trip Maps
Previously, the release was an EP, now it looks like an live album improvisations.
Northern Point (05:57) - timing as in the video,
Northern Point (04:40) - there's a new mix now...
Brian, Semtex to the studio, We Have Explosive in your mind, please!!!

Someone told me there will be a vinyl edition of SXone - just saying...
You're doin' too much, do less.
Re: All purpose reissues thread - latest: Trip Maps
Yes - five tracks on the vinyl edition.
Wouldn’t say the original was an EP, it’s 45 minutes which is only a minute or two shorter than some of their albums.

Ok, now we've got five further tracks on the digital edition, which will also feature on the CD edition which, along with the LP, will be out in November...
Re: All purpose reissues thread - latest: SX One Live Improvisations
Lovely stuff - Glad I re-bought the whole thing rather than just the individual tracks now

Re: All purpose reissues thread - latest: SX One Live Improvisations
At 1hr17m, this is now the longest individual FSOL album since Lifeforms (A:E:V is... hard to define).
It's kind of a shame about the title(s) and cover, if this was just marketed as a 'conventional' FSOL album it'd be so exciting.
Couple of bonus images from Bandcamp:

edit: this album is really fucking good. Some seriously deep atmospheres on these new tracks. Kinda disappointing the CD doesn't include 'Sand', as the other two ommissions are fine - 'Berlin' is just a weird minute of noise, and, er, the two versions of 'Northern Point' are almost identical, just with 32 seconds chopped from 'Turner' (plus an outro environment):

Re: All purpose reissues thread - latest: SX One Live Improvisations
this isn't half bad actually, has a proper fsol ambient atmosphere vibe to it which im enjoying, didn't think much of the original when it came out but im glad I spent the cash on revisiting it this week.
Re: All purpose reissues thread - latest: SX One Live Improvisations
a bit late to this, but trying to understand... there was originally an 8 track version posted, but then replaced several days later with a 13 track version?
Re: All purpose reissues thread - latest: SX One Live Improvisations
thank you! what a confusing release! the notes on the bandcamp page still reference "4 additional tracks" which of course diverges from the track list showing an actual 9 additional tracks.
i wonder, for the original "4 additional" are they the same versions that are now included in the 13 track edition? i noticed that on discogs, the 8 track release has "Dopesheet 7" at a duration of 5:49 while on the 13 track release it's now 3:54. all the other track durations do seem to match up though. (though also noting that the original 4 tracks now have different durations than on the 2017 release... due to new environment sounds / crossfades, or are they fully different mixes?)

also chuckling at the album art mis-titling "Into the Spider-Verse" instead as as "Into the Multiverse"
