Re: New mystery FSOL release...

I dunno, the amount of people asking for XL t-shirts when they came out definitely gave me the idea we have a few 'high tide on the sea of flesh' types here.

I think Far-out Son of Lung and the Ramblings of a Madman is about the closest to me.

Whilst we may never reach the point of Gaz's dreams in the '90s - of FSOL simply broadcasting new music 24/7 from their studio - this will be a step further away from the 'album every 18 months' routine that the music industry has forced upon artists.
On the other hand, releasing an album every 18 months helps maintain "quality control". So only the best tracks that fit together as a whole get released. IMHO the Environments series suffers somewhat from this. I would take a high quality album every 18 months over the quantity approach anyday.

I do hope this is something new, but I won't be surprised if it is Environment Seven.
But Environment Seven would be new. I was under the impression only the first three Environments contained archived material, and even then 3 was augmented with some new parts. Am I misled?

2 has new parts, and 4 has old bits (heavily remixed).

Prepare for the collective groan, as three words emanate: Record Store Day.

This is usually the case.
Even if the release is totally sold out (like the Cartel remixes were) - a few dozen copies always surfaced on fsoldigital.com
You're doin' too much, do less.

Only speculation, but I get the feeling this will at least get a digital release on FSOLDigital, like the Cartel Remixes package.

That list looks considerably smaller (and less interesting) than it's ever been. Think RSD might soon go away ...

I was given the title Views : Environmental : Archived, so obviously something's changed in the meantime

The 'Views' record will be mostly 'Viewed From...' tracks (mostly unreleased, a couple of new versions of previous ones); not sure what's on Environmental and Archived, but I'd imagine it's new and old material respectively. It's a triple album. And, as I said, totally blurring the lines of what a normal album is and isn't.
