Re: Blackhill Transmitter Four
Really excellent, as usual. The first and last tracks are surprisingly moody and melody compared to the usual stark sound of BT. Might be my favourite so far.
Re: Blackhill Transmitter Four
Sounds promising, I will have to give this a listen tomorrow. Really like the series so far.

Oh good! Look forward to downloading that when I get. Volumes 1-3 are my perfect downtime listens.

Re: Blackhill Transmitter Four
Interestingly what do people call these EPs? I notice the new one is Four.
Others were EP, 2nd and 3
...typical FSOL!
I had called them EP1, EP2 and EP3...but feel I ought to adopt the official nomenclature. But that's a fight between purism and OCD!!!

It's Always the same old story, with this fight. I am an OCD-person (also in tagging music) but with FSOL I gave up and I follow their rulesmoxlox wrote:Interestingly what do people call these EPs? I notice the new one is Four.

So, Archived 8 (not "From The Archives Vol. 8), Environment Five (not Environments), and this list could go on forever
Re: Blackhill Transmitter Four
Brian informs me the first EP is technically called 'Signals', just to confuse matters.

Awesome as usual - the opening is ... f*ing great. The third track is impressive too.
There are talks about BHT vinyl because of the positive feedback

I'd buy the vinyl. Especially for this latest one, which is really rather good.

Well, today's actually my first opportunity to listen to this. I am seriously impressed. That is a gorgeous piece of work. Really enjoyable listen. I'll have to have another go through the previous three EPs, but on first listen I rate it as the best so far. A lovely sombre piece of work. Is Blackhill Transmitter both Brian and Gaz by the way or just Brian? Have they actually confirmed it?

I was going to ask that too. I kinda have a feeling like it's just Brian, but I'm not sure.dell1972 wrote:Is Blackhill Transmitter both Brian and Gaz by the way or just Brian? Have they actually confirmed it?

Re: Blackhill Transmitter Four
Yes, BHT project is just Brian, it's an homage project for his father Bill who passed away in 2013.
Uses recordings Bill made in the past in every EP, also the EMS instruments are always present. Brian also plays everything on BHT, drums, guitars, etc etc - although we had a hint that the drums on a few tracks were played by an old Scottish friend.
(I think his father was also involved in the EMS inception as an engineer, though I might be wrong... no credits on a quick google search).
