Good stuff man,
thinking about it now... I probably wouldn't like this if I heard just audio - but the life performance brings it much higher...

What?? Is it out already? Have to wait a week here still... So please share your experience, what is it like? Back to the roots or continuing the "Ed Wynne & Wife+drummachine"-style of the last few albums?epitome wrote:Ozric Tentacles - Technicians of the Sacred
np: Alice in Ultraland via my new Sony Head Phones. Pure delight.

Ariel Pink - pom pom
Nostalgic psychedelic glam prog rock madness with a satanic touch here and there. I fucking love it, but understand everyone who finds this unnerving and annoying. This guy walks a thin line between absolutely irresistible soft-rock anthems and childish muppet show-like things that work more as intermissions as real songs. A heavy influence of a more like healthy dose of LSD is obvious .

Well, I only got into OT recently and I've listened from their earliest stuff on the Vitamin Enhanced boxset and worked my way up to Become The Other. So I can't really say how Technicians of the Sacred compares to their last few albums.Dennis wrote:What?? Is it out already? Have to wait a week here still... To me, it doesn't feel all that different from their earlier stuff that I've heard - almost disappointing really, as it maybe feels a bit samey considering the 30 year gap from their first recordings. But it does have a modern sheen which works well and I'd say there are influences of Shpongle etc in places.
Overall, it could be their best album (that I've heard).

Somehow I knew that...epitome wrote:To me, it doesn't feel all that different from their earlier stuff that I've heard
Sphongle influence sounds good anyway.
