Yeah. When I was younger I used to mostly listen to punk, metal and alternative rock. My tastes have broadened quite a lot since then, but I still like to rock out on a regular basis Was never really into Sepultura though...

Defo, even though Aenima is a masterpiece IMO Undertow is TOOL at their best.
After a break of a couple of months, decided to revisit some of the later TD that did nothing for me first time around... discovered that I rather like Winter in Hiroshima and The Endless Season. Definitely enjoy all five of the Five Atomic Seasons now. Gave a couple of the Sonic Poems another go and still failed to be gripped on any level, though. Utterly bored.

just today i revisted springtime and i'm listening to winter as i write this!
i also skipped around a bit and did purgatorio and knights of asheville moogfest
i tried to find paradiso online but only found like 3 or so tracks and then a number of like 20 second samples of each track
hmmmm not sure i'm ready for that one yet anyway
also looked for that izu live in japan release and found nothing but a love on a train video

Ha, the Dante trilogy is proper electronic opera, not a fan of them at all. Mars Polaris and The Seven Letters From Tibet are ok, if a bit forgettable, but for me the next step after Goblins' Club is Jeanne D'Arc. After that, there are a handful of Eastgate Years albums that I enjoyed enough to actually track down copies of - Springtime in Nagasaki, Autumn in Hiroshima and Chandra Part 1 - but nothing that's blown me away, other than Mala Kunia which I've been listening to a lot lately. Wonderful record, and it's nice that Edgar went out on a high.
Either way, I still own 28 TD albums, which is enough to keep me going for a long time...
Currently listening to Green Desert. A bit of an underrated one this, I find the blend of their early kraut and later synth sounds works surprisingly well.
Newsletter just went out saying that Thorsten, Ulrich and Peter Baumann will be completing the sessions begun with Edgar last year for the first 'Quantum Years' album - which now looks set to be the final TD album.
Nah, Edgar has been at the core of the group since 1967, there's no chance they would continue without him indefinitely - plus it's been about 90% Edgar in concept and sound for about fifteen years, everyone else has been mostly doing their own projects anyway. This year should see the release of this album and some concerts as a tribute to Edgar and then I'd imagine it's it for original material. I'm sure there's lots of other unreleased stuff that will work its way out over the next few years though!
