epitomeZero

Post by epitome »

Here's a 90 second excerpt of a new track. This is a remix of what will be the first track on the EP I'm working on - the EP version is quite different and has a darker tone to it, but I wanted a more uplifting version which I'm planning to put into a mix I'm hoping to finish in a few weeks.

Let me know what you think...

Yeah, the two samples you've shared so far are refreshingly un-generic sounding.

Thanks guys. To be fair, it's nothing more than me making it up as I go, just going with what I think sounds good with no regard to usual structure etc.

The remix I've done is probably more, er, normal, as it keeps some of the structure of the original song (if none of the actual music) - but even that one goes a bit weird towards the end :)

And Seedy, when exactly are we going to hear some of yours??

Last of the annoying preview clips... a track from my EP called Summit. I love this one. The whole track is also included in the mix I uploaded a few days ago.

Cool, let me know what you think - if you don't like the first track, keep going, had a bit of a mixed reaction to that one so far! :)

The Green Day remix is kinda old - actually the first thing I really finished, in late November last year. I think I could do it better now, but I still like it.

I am keeping busy though - working on the 2nd EP (going to be one long chillout track), plus a collaboration song (possibly leading to an EP).

Oh, and I'm using FL Studio.

done!

yep first track was a bit grating and doesn't fit the theme of the rest of the tracks
but after the fact i thought it was ok to put this as the first tune as it just kind of breaks you into the EP and from there it's smoother sailing
so i can see how it "makes sense" in this respect

tracks 2 and 6 are my favorite and just seem the most imaginative to me

Cool, thanks :)

Well, out of the 5 people I have feedback from, that's 3 who don't like the first track and 2 who said it's their favourite. I'm almost with the latter group, I'd say track 5 is my favourite, then track 1. Weird that the first track seems to get quite strong reactions one way or the other.

Thanks for the feedback :)

doh i just realized i messed that up

2 and FIVE are my favorite!

track 1 i just think is polarizing
it's gritty and raw and industrial - so you are either into that sound and that type of tension or not
whether a person likes it or not - it's still easier to go with the flow of more peaceful/ambient type vibes like the rest of the EP
thus i think the negative reaction would be a bit more subdued than track 1
