aprodites child - end of the world....well this was a weird one (as expected i guess). liked it for the most part
popol vuh - for you and me.....great album in 1991
right now...sandoz
hearing as many tracks as i can but having a hard time piecing any of the albums together on youtube
anyone have recommendations here?
much of what i hear is pretty good and only at times sounds terribly dated
the rich H kirk stuff i am also working through and that's been rougher
listened to black jesus voice yesterday and that one was the first i would deem "ok" though quite dated sounding
just not totally sold yet but i hear enough good to keep me trying =P

also epitome - that was a pretty confusing review you put there
you say samey and almost disappointing but that it could be their best you've heard??
i'm currently doing my 2nd listen to share my thoughts
anyway everything ozric is ed, and ed always has a common ground vibe within all of his stuff
but i would say without any personal doubt that i get a different flavor from every album of ozric in their prime
only after hidden step and turning to solo ed did it start to feel somewhat stale and calculated to me
funny you mention the shpongle influence.....as ozric is noted as a huge influence on shpongle =()
could surely be the case though as Zia (ex-bassist) was the one who turned me onto shpongle in the first place!

Yeah, it's part of that yes, which you can still sign up to for 10 english notes here.
It's worth pointing out you get a vast galaxy of other music as well, as well as the occasional email based profanity.
I still haven't got round to listening to the track and its stripped down demo. It's good to see he came back after his last meltdown.
I'm listening today to Secret Saucer's Second Sighting, and a load of wonderful Colundi nonsense from Aleksi Perälä.

I meant it was disappointing that the album seemed a bit samey compared to the 80s and early 90s stuff, but not that the music itself was disappointing, if you see what I mean. The music is absolutely fantastic, I've listened about 10 times now and I stand by it probably being my favourite OT album that I've heard.
Funny you should mention the Shpongle thing - as I did think on Become The Other (and maybe Arborescence) there were some psytrance-style bits here and there, so yeah, as you say it could well be that OT influenced Shpongle in the first place. I would say there is more of that style on this new album than any previous OT album that I've heard though.

yes no doubt
the tribal chanting and voices etc surely helps to make that case!
