Yeah, would agree, it's their weakest album compared to the rest of their discog (although I don't see Wonky much higher with stinkers like beezledub and that awful titletrack on it), but still quite decent. I really like esp. Lost and Tunnel Vision for that quite dark and desolate sound.

It was around 2003 or so when I first listened an album by Orbital at all (In Sides) and the blue album came out next year and was kind of new and I really liked it at the time. So maybe there is some nostalgia involved :)

Yeah, those two drag the album down, but 'One Big Moment', 'Distractions', 'New France', 'Stringy Acid' and 'Where is it Going' are all superb. The fact that, before the album came out, they trailed the album with 'Never' and 'Straight Sun' (both ok but kinda b-side standard really) and 'Beelzedub' and the title track basically stopped me from actually buying it until months after it came out, so I ended up really, really pleasantly surprised at how good the rest of the record was. So that probably colours my view of it, in that I might enjoy it more than I would otherwise. But generally I do find it a fun album for the most part.

Currently listening to Hubris by Richard Beirach. Solo piano jazz.

It is quite lovely. A nice interview discussing the process that went into recording "Dionysus."

Hi tryptych. Cheers!

New AUTECHRE _ sinistrail sentinel. It's a free download if you purchased NTS Sessions 1-4 from the AE_STORE. This so lush! It has the Live Europe—2016 and Autechre Live Australia—2018 vibe to it.

Excellent mix by Stephen Mallinder (Cabaret Voltaire). FSOL & Amorphous Androgynous in the mix. 8-)

The Orb - Other Blue Worlds
No Sounds Are Out Of Bounds (2018)

They still got it... brilliant stuff, great album altogeher. Probably my favorite since 2007's The Dream. Merry Christmas!

Yeah, it's been a great year for me as well. Not sure if The Orb would make my top 5 though, but definitely top 10

Kinda made me realize it's been so long since FSOL released anything "top"-worthy  Probably 2014's Environment Five for me.

Crikey, I thought that Orb album was probably their worst ever. Sounds totally half finished to me.

:o

The last couple of days I've been mostly listening to:

Dark Buddha Rising - Ritual IX

Gary Numan - Savage (Live)

And I guess that's going to see me through til the end of the year... unless I get a nice calendar album to listen to soon
