As it's Record Store Day it'll almost certainly be vinyl-only for the moment. Likely to be a digital release some time later on.

Hi Ross, long time no...chat? I was a regular here many years ago, fell off the FSOL wagon for a while (not thee biggest fan of the AA stuff, I like it, respect it, but it´s not the FSOL I fell in love with back in 94, yes ISDN) but with the latest Environments and Archives series I´m on a FSOL high for the moment and I just love it ! Good to be back !

Any idea on number of copies being made available?

I fell for the eBay route like twice, once with the Cartel Remixes, which did have some vinyl exclusive tracks, but was then released digitally. Then last year, the Accelerator RSD vinyl was reissued on CD months later, and I acquired that much cheaper.

fsoldigital will most definitely get some residual copies, so I'll just bide my time this year. The lines at Rough Trade were insane last year as well. lol

Hello! Yes, I thought I recognised the name! Welcome back. :)

No news on numbers or availability yet - we're still over a month away so doubtless the info will all come in the next few weeks. I reckon it'll be one of the more widely available records though, simply because it seems to be heavy on new material as opposed to previous ones.

I'm very curious to see the album artwork for this, and assuming it will be gatefold, the interiors. Maybe some cool inserts or center labels as well?

RSD press kit and cover art:

http://recordstoreday.co.uk/exclusive-r ... ondon-the/

Available for preorder here:

https://www.deejay.de/The_Future_Sound_ ... yl__267165

"This Triple album brings together the two main strands of FSOL's current output, namely the "From the Archives" series and the "Environments" albums. Comprising a total 48 tracks, 35 of them are new or previously unreleased:

Vinyl 1 is the Archives album which pulls 8 previously released tracks from the series but in some cases new mixes of these tracks have been created specially for this release. The other 9 tracks are unreleased Archive tracks from the vast vaults of FSOL. The "From the Archives" series is no exercise in barrel scraping, FSOL are well known for their prodigious output regularly going through periods of creating several tracks a day. Many of these tracks would be 'lost' only for not fitting current projects, created only for special live events and broadcasts or would change so drastically during the recording process that the original version would bear little resemblance to the released track. From the Archives seeks to give light to these tracks that are as good as anything released on their 'official' albums.

Vinyl 2 is the Environments album, 16 brand new tracks which continues the journey along the ambient environmental path. As the title suggests, each Environments album is a journey through a specific mood, place or environment.

Vinyl 3 brings together much of the piano work FSOL have done over the years and also includes 2 new cover versions of tracks by Brian Eno and his brother Roger Eno. The piano is mainly played by Grammy Nominated / Ivor Novello Winner DANIEL PEMBERTON - well known for his film score work - (Gold, Steve Jobs, King Arthur).
Views contains 10 previously unreleased tracks - 15 tracks in total"

That looks exciting, they're not doing things by half are they? I'll look forward to seeing it appear hopefully on fsoldigital in a format that doesn't involve me buying new/old hardware.
