Three of my FLAC files begin with a loud digital pop. Very distracting:

Env 5: Unforth
Env 8: Sea Pig
Views 14: The House in the Woods

Is anyone else hearing this?
Thanks.

(On a positive note, Views might become my all-time favorite... it's so unique and beautiful)

Crazy timing just came to post exactly the same thing! Have clipped off the offending 'pops' of the FLACs using a wave editor and all seems fine but yeah it certainly caught me off guard, they're jolly loud especially perceptually on The House In The Woods due to how quiet the preceding track is :o

The popping noise is on the mp3´s too. Hm. Think I will wait for the CD to rip the 3 tracks from there again. Yes, I will buy the CD too. Think I won´t be able to avoid buying a new FSOL cd when it will appear in my local music store :)

But it´s hilarious they made the whole thing available via fsoldigital-download. Fantastic stuff so far. The environmental part seems to be their most 'digital' sounding recording so far, lots of synth-bleeping and clonking, some tracks appear almost like a more light, melodic version of autechre.

For me the environmental section is my favourite. It flows like a brand new FSOL album...as in the next in the series after Dead Cities..Some gorgeous sounds and compositions in there...some of their finest work..Just need to get round to listening to the rest lol

Archived is hard for me to judge as a cohesive release, the unheard tracks (though they are mostly ACE) just stick to much out for me at the moment. Views works much better despite of the known tracks the thing just flows very well.

Btw the CD clocks in over 70 min, their longest CD release since ISDN!

Archived is a baffling tracklist. How many times has Lizzard Crawl been released now?

The new tracks on Archived are great great tracks, but i wish they could have put the old tracks on side A and the new/unheard tracks on side B...

For the record, I'd ignore what it says on FSOLDigital, often I've received an item while it still says processing on the site!
The items are sent about 40 a day (Brian lives in a small town with a small Post Office, I think this is about as many as he can get away with without clogging up the place for the day!) so sometimes it can be a few days before things are sent. :)
