How odd, either they changed the notice on the site or Pete's been hallucinating! It doesn't say hand numbered on there, or at least it doesn't now. It does say though (partially obscured by the background) that they've only got 16 copies of it.

Hah yeah, they've changed it - I copied and pasted the message from the site. Maybe that was for record store day only purchases (either that or they had a limited stock of signed purchases in stock)

I emailed FSOLdigital.com and Graham replied saying they used info from record store day. So i presume there was just only 750 pressed but just not numbered. I have to say The Cartel remixes LP is something else. Worth buying.

Hey guys, I'm sorry to say I'm really disappointed in the quality of this physical product. Mine arrived broken and bent unfortunately so I can't attest to the music, but the vinyl and card stock are really flimsy and feel cheap. The vinyl is almost acetate thickness, like this was a rushed release and they had to settle for a 2nd tier pressing plant, but Passion Music I would expect deserves some of the blame as well. Really hope they do better next time out with vinyl, Because I've never had any complaints with their releases I've been buying for over 20 years now. Just my 2 cents.

Also, none of these are numbered, don't believe that for a second.

I've been listening to this all day long...
It's amazing actually
It's the old-skool Cartel with a new (electrified and FSOLish) view.
- Love the opening track, it took three listens to notice it actually has dubstep elements... :) Who are Black Light Cinema anyway... I see they have soundcloud, and one more unreleased Stripped version of the Chaser...

- I've been meaning to ask, the tracks that don't have any additional credits for remixing,
but they have the SAME names like they did on the original Cartel, and yet they aren't the same tracks... what's the deal with them?

C1 - Banksters
C2 - The Bug
D1 - The Wasp
D5 - The Rat
- are they alternate takes? or something...

I would have thought they are just as you said slight different versions. Loving the Cranium Pie reworking's. But they are all Fantastic and it's always nice to here other peoples stamp on things. Pandemonium i have to say your knowledge of the Boy's and there music amazes me. The Review on the isness was spot on and is a magical Album and they came back with Ultraland which blew me away even more. Now the cartel a soundtrack album. Looking forward to the Lifeforms 20th birthday thing. Keep those Reviews coming. Now get some sleep. Peace...

Funny, I missed this first time. Anyone else with the vinyl version (Alex?), can you confirm this? Would be a real shame. I'm holding out on buying it as I have barely any cash at the mo, and if it's a bad pressing then I'm really glad I didn't spend what I do have! May just grab the download this time.

I now have both versions (in mp3) - and I must say - some kind of serious mess was made...
The tracks on the vinyl don't correspond length-wise with the Web version...

- If I take the Web version as more reliable, there are some typos and mess in the vinyl version,
- I don't have time right now - but I will do a lot of listening of the original Cartel with the remixes (12" & web too) - but on the first look - it looks very messy...

Re: Cartel Remixes vinyl album

OK, after a Marathon of all things "The Cartel" - I finally figured it out.

On the vinyl edition, the track "20 Years Behind Bars" is unlisted, it should count as B5, and the other B-tracks shift down after B5 so the B-side has 9 tracks (not 8).
(the vinyl rip I have had the last 4 tracks cut-up differently - so additional headache of 2 hours to figure that out...)

I fixed the Discogs link - so the final 2x12" tracklist should look like this:

http://www.discogs.com/Amorphous-Androg ... se/5603695

---

The WEB release is generally OK, except track 8 is named "Watching The Watcher"
- and it should be named "The Watched Man (The Amorphous Androgynous Remix of ‘The Watcher’)"

---

So, the differences:

exclusive to 2x12":
C3 - Regrets (Re-edit of ‘An Ocean of Regret’ & ‘Regrets & Last Respects’)
D2 - Bankster Island (The Amorphous Androgynous Remix of 'Banksters')
D4 - Regrets and The Damage Done (Lost in Edit Remix of 'An Ocean of Regret')
D6 - Opium Smiles (The Amorphous Androgynous Remix of 'The Wasp')

exclusive to WEB:
05 - Anadolu Dub (Lost in Edit Remix of ‘An Ocean of Regret’)
15 - Watery Grave (Cranium Pie’s Baking Research Station Remix of ‘Regrets & Last Respects’)

- there are 8 tracks on the 2x12" that are taken from The Cartel Vol.1/Vol.2 - they are the same, so, not exclusive.

- Where Does The Evil Go? (feat. Alisha Sufit) - is a new track (present in both 2x12" and WEB), not a remix of anything,
and has nothing to do with "Where Does The Evil Go When Evil Men Die?" from The Cartel Vol.1, except the name similarities.

No, my copy is not hand-numbered. I searched high and low.

Alex, I think Ross meant - is the vinyl very slim and not a standard quality release - easily breakable and such (like in the case of ronniedubs)

- it's not about hand-numbering - I think the internet established in a few hundred places that the hand-numbering does not exist in this case.

Oh, sorry - I read through to fast - I honestly didn't notice a problem with the quality, although I've only taken the actual vinyl out on a couple occasions (my turntable's on the fritz as of late). Maybe it is a bit thin, but I hadn't really noticed. Ronnie, that sucks - sounds like your copy went through hell during shipping. I found mine at a local shop, it was in mint condition.
