Help identifying show?

Post by Pinyaka »

I found a FSOL show that was labelled as the KISS FM Transmission 1, but it doesn't correspond to the tracklist for that show. Does anyone know what this might be? It's about three hours and has Cyberface and Yage, so it's got to be pretty early. Soundcloud link.

Mmm no idea, I guess it was just one of the aformentioned "six 3 hour shows for Kiss FM". Interesting that they chose a track by Leftfield (not sure of the title) at 1:05:29 that they ended up 'thieving' for Liquid Insects

I looked through the tracklists for those shows and they don't seem to match either. Just before the part that you mention (at about an hour in), they play Expander but that doesn't show up in any of the shows there either.

Yeah well, Ross updated those links transmissions when FSOL released the official Pod Room transmissions, there were 2 test and 6 regular Kiss FM trasmissions.

This one here, seems to be something else, because there were more than 8 Kiss FM transmissions, it very well could be.

This one was around on the old Disenchanted FTP, it was named
"Kiss FM Transmission 1 (26.12.1992)"

and there wasn't much info for it, here's what I have:

FSOL Kiss Broadcast hosted by Yage and Cyberface. The "hosting" involves Gaz and Brian
talking in stupidly altered voices about embarrassing subjects such as being trapped in
the sample library. For their sake, the conclusion has been reached that they were taking
the piss. Parts 2 and 3 of a 3-part bootleg are available on the internet..

Tracklisting:

Second section:

01. 00:00 Ramirez - Hablando (Accordeon Mix)
02. 04:00 Redcell - Retreat From Unpleasent Realities
03. 08:20 Datura - Eternity (Delux Remix)
04. 12:00 Double FM - The Sound of Amnesia (Hey Que Pasa)
05. 16:33 Night Flight - Volcano (Escape Remix)
06. 20:30 Don Carlos - Alone (Paradise)
07. 24:13 Unknown
08. 26:40 Mix by The Moody Boys
09. 44:13 Mental Cube - Chile Of The Bass Generation

Third Section:

01. 00:00 Mental Cube - Chile Of The Bass Generation
02. 01:42 Unknown
03. 04:26 Deep Meditteranean?
04. 07:19 Holy Ghost Inc. - Mad Monks on Zinc
05. 10:35 Future Sound Of London - Expander (Remix)
06. 14:21 Metropolis - Metropolis

07. Leftfield Mix
This is a fully mixed DJ set - various rave and techno music, including samples of
'The Beatles - Revolution', 'Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit' and 'Orbital - The
Naked And The Dub'

08. Unknown Mix
Another DJ mix, this time no title is given. At the end you can hear the flute sample
found later in "Yage" from Dead Cities
You're doin' too much, do less.
