Someone over on Steve Hoffman has posted a list of the UK releases for RSD 2020. Looks like we can expect a couple of things this year.

FSOL - Cascade 2020

The Amorphous Androgynous - A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble Presents We Persuade Ourselves We Are Immortal Remixes

The title of the AA release is listed as "A Monster Psychedelic Bubble" but the artwork looks like the Immortal remixes that was hinted at elsewhere, so I guess that's what it actually is.

Featuring: Peter Hammill (of Van Der Graaf Generator fame!!), The Amorphous Androgynous, Paul Weller (yes him!!), Atomic Simao, Cobalt Chapel, The Cuckoo Clocks, Rabbit In The Moon, Higher Peaks, Los Trumpos De Fallopium (from a nice place i guess ), Richard E Further Out, Future Children, Sweet Jesus (Steve Cobby of Fila Brazillia fame!!).

Wasn’t expecting Cascade - honestly thought we’d get Glass this year, as the 1997 version never came along. Or even Eggshell! Still, pretty excited to see where this goes as we’ve not had anything remotely Lifeforms-themed for a long time.

Be waiting for the late April CD & digital releases of these...

26 years after its initial release FSOL rebuild and create 10 new compositions heavily inspired by the original album

Completely unexpected. But 10 new compositions for the vinyl, plus probable bonus tracks for the CD & Digital releases! Quite possibly my all time favourite FSOL track. Very excited for this release

This is all very exciting news! Cascade 2020, this gives me hope for new versions of Lifeforms sometime in the near future.

As with My Kingdom and Yage (and Mountain Goat), these will be all-new re-recordings. With the Lifeforms EP, they'd have to get Liz to re-record the vocals to enable them to release a new version on FSOLDigital, as Virgin / Universal own the original recordings, including all the original vocal takes. The other option would be for Universal to release it themselves, which I don't imagine they'd necessarily be that bothered about, and the band would effectively see no money from.
So I wouldn't hold your breath.

Confirmation - Cascade will be coming out on CD a week after RSD. No CD for the Amorphous record.
