I have to say I've really been enjoying this album so far, it seems generally a bit of a departure for them: It has generally much more of a squelchy 80s synthy feel for me and a full overall sound. This is in no way a bad thing.

I did chuckle when it came to listening to the bonus EP thing and had to search for it in the list of FSOLness. I'm sure they do it deliberately.

Oh yeah, that'll be it. I forgot that had a TOT catalogue number, none of the other Amorphous albums have.

Ok, so on the disc it's written "From the archives vol. 9", but the album has been promoted as Archived 9. Same as 8? How should I tag it? :D

I'm going with From the Archives, as that's what the CD and sleeve say.

Ok, but is Archived 8 just Archived 8 or it's also From The Archives vol. 8 somewhere?

Ross wrote: As far as I'm aware, I think the bulk of the mid-'90s archives are about drained now, although I'm sure there are still tracks lying around. But earlier stuff (including a lot of initial Lifeforms ideas), sketches, and of course the past 20 years are all still ripe for plundering. So that probably explains the relative lack of the rich, squelchy 'classic' FSOL sound in 8, from what I'm reading 9, and probably future archives.
Was the last track from the Lifeforms VHS ever released? It comes in after vertical pig at around the 9 min mark. Always thought it was a nice piece.

Also don't recall Take Me Home being included on anything bar a virgin sampler CD back in the day.

Good shout, not heard/watched that in ages. After having viewed it now on Youtube it's like a hybrid of Lifeforms Path 4 and Papua New Guinea !

That's 'Deep Into Your Subconscious I Slide', which was on this.
The second piece on the video, after 'Dead Skin Cells', remains unreleased, however.

It's possible that all these Virgin-released tracks might end up on some Lifeforms 3CD expanded edition if it ever happens.

I had also hoped they would thread these tracks together as a kind of 'part 3' to the original 2 CDs. The album turns 25 this year doesn't it? *cough cough*
