On that note, I just challenged myself to do a track all about the beats. : D

Re: Produced some tunes + mix page
Thanks! I got the Circuit in September and after the first night didn't really knock out anything other than short sketches, but decided to get my head down in the last few weeks. All the tracks are live performed and then edited afterwards. Gotta say... compared to back when I was very young and us...

Re: Produced some tunes + mix page
Okay. I've produced my first album. https://www.mixcloud.com/Dashily/the-first-album-stumble-funk-mix/ I'd be lying if I didn't say that FSOL's ISDN Transmissions and Environments series weren't hugely influential (hence the album being mixed in). Psilodump for rhythmic composition as well as otherw...

Re: Produced some tunes + mix page
Re-sampled the circuit several times over via audacity to get more layering and improve density. An ambient tribal sounding track. : )

Re: Produced some tunes + mix page
Narcissist. I hadn't thought of that word in relation to Trump but it seems spot on. It could be that when Trump looks in the mirror he sees his version of God. Frightening. Speaking of plastics, I just finished Jack Herer's book the Emperor Wears No Clothes and it confirmed all of my worst thought...

Re: Blade Runner: 2049
I'm not too sure where I stand on that. I get what they were going for, but with all the new ideas expressed in the film (central being K's relationship with Joi and whether it's 'genuine' or not, or what that even means, and the journey Deckard goes through in reconnecting with his past). Actually,...

Re: Blade Runner: 2049
Aye. Sorry. Thought you might have had an inside scoop. : )
I wonder if the surfacing of Johannson's score will end up creating various versions of 2049, as with what happened to the original.

Re: Produced some tunes + mix page
Yeah, Trump is an embarrassment. Bread and circuses perhaps in keeping him in play as he makes a vocal idiot of himself on a regular basis. It diverts attention from the real issues at hand (for example, I recently read there's been $180 billion been spent on plastics since 2010 and that's supposedl...

Re: What are you listening to?
Cool. I'll check it out later. I just found out the wonders of Electric Sheep on youtube, so it'll probably combo well with what you mention. Lately, I've been going back into the past a little and refreshing what helped shape my mind today. There was a period in drum and bass, betweem '94 and '99, ...

Re: Blade Runner: 2049
Absolutely loved it! I consider Blade Runner to be the ultimate sci-fi movie and to me it will always be top3 in the universe :) The 2049 was almost perfect, definitely a masterpiece, in every aspect, except the soundtrack. Johnasson's approach was insanely good and original, I was following it for...

Re: Blade Runner: 2049
I don't have as much of a problem with 2049's soundtrack as I thought I would have beforehand. Yeah, it's more abstract, ambient and quite frankly menacing than the music in the original, but that reflects the tone, the hopelessness for the people, in the film. There are some beautiful pieces in the...

Re: A Monstrous Psychadelic Good Time.
I've really grown into Amorphous Androgynous as the years have progressed. Although I'd heard Papua New Guinea before I first knew 'FSOL' for FSOL, I first got into them via Wipeout 2097 with We Have Explosive when I was in my early teens. I believe Gaz has some problems with that tune, but it allow...
