Re: Fractional Difference - Exploring FSOL song-by-song

Sorry to hear that Ross, that sounds awful. I hope you shake it off sooner rather than later.

Re: A Space of Partial Illumination e7.002 out October 2022

Mine never arrived, and I am in the UK. I think I contacted them via Bandcamp in the end after waiting for about a month. Graham got back to me quickly and sorted it out, his theory was it got lost in the post.

Re: FSOLDigital Calendar

Only just got round to listening to ALb, I like it. I agree, it don't think I would guess it was by them if it was a blind listen. It's quite warm and laid back, surprisingly sparse from them. Occasional didn't sound like a track at all as such, more an environment to go between more substantial pie...

Re: A Space of Partial Illumination e7.002 out October 2022

I'm kind of glad it's not released until October now, for a while I thought it was going to be released before my physical copy of Rituals even arrived. It gives me at least a bit more time to absorb Rituals a bit more, along with the calendar albums from the last two years which I had not listened ...

Re: Rituals: e7.001 (Environment 7) out April 2022

Very enjoyable first listen, and thanks to Ross for his comments to glance at while listening. I like the way it refers to the sound of Lifeforms, ISDN and Dead Cities without being derivative.

Re: The Amorphous Androgynous - Listening Beyond the Head Chakra

A mildly obscure one that has come up on my radar as result of an old RSS feed I set up about ten years ago. I don't think it's been mentioned elsewhere, I don't quite have the time I used to to check these things. A forthcoming (April 30th) anthology of the Music of guitarist Ray Fenwick is to incl...

Re: RIP Edgar Froese

I agree, on the whole it sounds pretty good, but there's a few alarming bum notes. The track Dominion in particular is very prominently off key as the music comes in, but otherwise is pretty close to the released version. Some bits do sound like they are identical to Logos, or have bits that have be...

Re: RIP Edgar Froese

I'm gradually working my way through the Pilots box now. Unsurprisingly, Logos appears to have been largely a studio album after all, though that doesn't detract from the sheer beauty of the real Dominion Concert recording. It's a little odd that they have just split the main bulk of the concert int...

Re: RIP Edgar Froese

I see there's another Tangerine Dream box coming out, the follow up to last year's mind blowing "In Search Of Hades" to cover the rest of the Virgin Years. Not so many extras to the next month's "Pilots of Purple Twilight" but with the extras they are providing, they really are s...

Re: Lifeforms CD Deluxe campaign.

I'd say it's encouraging what Universal have done recently with Tangerine Dream's back catalogue, the full bells and whistles boxed set treatment with stuff the band surely didn't even know still existed. The fact that that seems to have sold well will be encouraging for the prospect of other bands ...

Re: Yage 2019 - RSD release

Well, my copy arrived today, so hopefully you both got yours too :) It will be nice to finally* hear this! * a whole 6 days after it was released :P Yep, mine was waiting for me at home last night. What I've heard of it so far is very impressive, it does have that pre-Isness feel about it, a touch ...

Re: Yage 2019 - RSD release

I'm still waiting to get my copy as well, it's reassuring I'm not the only one. My finger was far from the pulse when it came to noticing they'd put it up on fsoldigital. I guess it makes the anticipation greater, sounds like it's a goodun!

Re: Archived 9 - out 5th October, and other upcoming release

I have to say I've really been enjoying this album so far, it seems generally a bit of a departure for them: It has generally much more of a squelchy 80s synthy feel for me and a full overall sound. This is in no way a bad thing. I did chuckle when it came to listening to the bonus EP thing and had ...
