Re: Environments 6

True, that was a pretty big sample. I also didn't mean suggest it wasn't a creative decision.

Re: Environments 6

Just a thought on a lack of voice samples or any obvious samples in general on these albums. I think it would be difficult for them to get away with sampling what they did as much as they did now. I think the price would just be too high these days.

Re: Environments 6

I've been on a massive FSOL kick over the last week or so. It's been great. :) I'm still trying to get a handle on these two records. I really like them, I Dream In Viral Blue is still kicking my arse. I keep going back to 6.5 more for some reason. I really need to give 6 more listens as I know it'l...

Indeed, it can be a bit unpredictable at times. Still, I like that it keeps us guessing. :)

I wonder if something concrete will be announced around then. It does a bit soon after Environments 6/6.5 though.

Re: Dead Cities turns 20

Well, this is really exciting indeed. Dead Cities is one of all time favourites! If that 1995 version of Quagmire is on there that would be superb. :)

Re: Environments 6

I've just been going with the flow with these two. I feel I'm starting to get in to Six a bit more now. These albums very much feel like two sides of the same coin. The great thing is that I know over time I'll really come to love these two albums. It's so exciting to have a couple of albums like th...

Re: Environments 6

Both of these albums are really very good indeed. I think I prefer 6.5 overall but much more listening to be done, which in the end is not a chore. :)

Re: Environments 6

I really hope mine show up in the post tomorrow. I could do with a bit of a lift or perhaps some euphoric sadness.

Re: Environments 6

Yeah, I was thinking about the short tracks and how on the previous Environments they've effectively just been segues - notably things like No Man's Land and Supercontinents basically just being an intro and outro to River Delta. If you apply the same to, say, Dead Cities, you get something quite s...

Re: Environments 6

I'm well excited to hear this. It's interesting that a lot of the tracks are quite short. It makes me wonder if they're going to be really dynamic albums. It's very dynamic. There's quite at bit of alternating between ambient and beats. A lot of the short tracks are essentially segues. A couple eve...

Re: Environments 6

I hadn't noticed but I do find it difficult to keep all the naming differences straight. I largely gave up, haha.

Re: Environments 6

Ordered double CD edition, can't wait to hear it. That preview track sounded excellent so I'm very excited about the whole thing. I'm thinking of getting the calendar too.
