DJ Food vs The Amorphous Androgynous & 2CC

Re: FSOL on Wipeout 2048?

You'd have thought it would make commercial sense to release a soundtrack. It'll be interesting to hear what they do with the rebuild especially since it's the very track that made Gaz rethink the way they were going. Mind you I doubt we'll get an AA style version, though they did end up playing it ...

Re: The Orb - C Batter C

I do like the dub stuff The Orb have done, even the first half of The Dream. Then again I do listen to quite a lot of reggae when I'm in the mood for it. I think the best word to describe Alex when he's left to his own devices is Goofy. Fehlmann is a good influence on him. I'm only speculating but t...

If I remember rightly the MPB 5 and 6 that turned in the Podroom were actually MPB 6 and 5 respectively, if you see what I mean.

RazorJack wrote:It's good, but I can't say I really like it as much as the last album(s). I don't think this counts as a "new full-length album" anyway. Pretty cool what they did with the packaging for those who pre-ordered it!
I agree, it's more like a very very deluxe single.

The Orb - C Batter C

I keep meaning to ask, any else given this a listen? It's been out a few weeks now. Seems to be a very nostaligic, very british and slightly melancholy piece yet somehow still clearly having touches of Thomas Fehlmann about it. There's some very varied remixes that come with it as well, not to menti...

Re: FSOL @ 20 - Environments

Three years? Some might say that's optimistic. Actually I've been meaning to mention this for some time. Do you think they got the title for the series from this original seventies classic? http://cdn.7static.com/static/img/sleeveart/00/001/294/0000129418_350.jpg I got an mp3 of that some time ago a...

Re: FSOL @ 20 - Environments

I still recall first hearing this, the opening 8 or so minutes is so fucking dark, hints of Lifeforms but on a seriously bad trip - from the startling knock on the door you really don't know what's going to come your way next. The huge splashing sound that comes in along with "So what are you g...

Re: Noel Gallagher/AA album thread

Apparently the monobrowed one discusses next year's album with the Amorphous Androgynous amongst other things in next month's Q Magazine. Out on Tuesday 29th Nov for those who care. http://news.qthemusic.com/2011/11/noel_gallagher_says_theres_no.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return...

Re: SEAFAR DRIFT

Have to say I'm really enjoying this. Unsurprisingly it has a similar dark dreamy ambience to the EBS 7 podcast which it is featured on. Much more textural than the first album.

Re: SEAFAR DRIFT

Blimey, that's some amazing timing. In the end my new one Isla had to settle for the palindromical 01.11.11 at 1:10pm. I may be offline for a bit, but I'm looking forward to hearing Drift when I can.

Re: Noel Gallagher/AA album thread

Noel Gallagher is quite rightly a bit nervous about the next album. The whole world and their granny have pinned their hopes on it: http://www.nme.com/news/noel-gallagher/60104" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The former Oasis chief released his first individual LP 'Noel Gall...
