Re: FSOL @ 20 - Environments

Environments 1, this one helped me a lot getting into FSOL. I remember going back and forth between this and Dead Cities quite often, and always thought that they both had kind of a similar vibe, dark and sometimes even ominous. Despite the quite different musical styles (one being mostly ambient, a...

Re: KISS 100 Transmission 4 Track / 2nd Echoes Interview

Thanks for mentioning Ishq, whoever in this thread did it first. Hadn't heard of them, really nice stuff!

Re: FSOL @ 20 - Lifeforms

Yep, well, I guess I pay a little too much attention to details when listening to music. It's best audible during the monologue at the start of "Among Myselves". In the beginning of "Domain" I also hear a few pops/clicks. During almost all of "Interstat" there's a faint...

Re: FSOL @ 20 - Lifeforms

Was listening to Lifeforms last night. A true masterpiece indeed. I'd say my favorite tracks are Cascade, Dead Skin Cells, Lifeforms, Among Myselves, Vit, and Omnipresence. It would be pretty cool if Among Myselves was the last track on the album, because it kinda ends the same way Cascade begins, s...

Re: FSOL @ 20 - Lifeforms

Very nice. Ross, would you say that your love for/addiction to Lifeforms has come to the point that you need to listen to it on a regular basis? I have that for certain albums, and it's kinda scary when you think about it... (none FSOL though, but I do listen to Dead Cities very, very often) I'm won...

FSOL - An End Of Sorts

Cool track, especially the part around 3:45 where both percussion styles are played simultaneously, for just a moment. Why is this amazing track not on the white version (1995 reissue) of ISDN ?!

Re: Noel Gallagher/AA album thread

Interesting stories. Personally, I don't do drugs (surprising huh, coming from a guy who lives in a country where many soft drugs are actually legal), but still enjoy any genre of music I'm in the mood for, in a normal state of mind. I love beer though. The 30 seconds changing discs is really depres...

Re: What are you listening to?

Biosphere - N-Plants (2011) Impressive work, I was really looking forward to this album. What I do not like at all though, are some high-frequency pitches in the background that can be heard in some tracks that contain (vocal) samples. Did Geir not hear this? I'm guessing he's physically unable to h...

Re: FSOL @ 20 - Accelerator

As a "new" fan (I started getting into FSOL about 3 years ago at most) I don't get any nostalgic feelings listening to this album. Of all official FSOL studio albums I've heard, I'd say it's my least favorite. To me, some tracks sound like fillers but overall it's a good album and I like t...
