Re: Fractional Difference - Exploring FSOL song-by-song

Pulse State sounds as good today as it did 30 years' ago. It also sounds like it was by a different group to the other tracks in the E.P.

Re: RSD 2021 Releases

Part 3 was the stand out part in my opinion. Listened to the remix EP and I can't hear the difference between the 7" Edit and the Oil Funk Remix. Not their finest moment but probably the reason why WHE was their highest charting single in the UK. Anyway, bring on RSD 2021!

Re: RSD 2021 Releases

I hadn't listened to the EP version of WHE for years until last night and forgot the Pt 1 is quite different from the album version. I didn't realize that the ending became part of 'Accompaniment For Melodious Expression' on Env 3. The remix EP is probably the only release by FSOL that I haven't lis...

RSD 2021 Releases

Releases for this year are 'World is Full of Plankton', 'Accelerator', and 'We Have Explosive'. The World is Full of Plankton is one of my favourite AA tracks and I think I read somewhere that an expanded We Have Explosive EP was coming. https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/record-store-day-202...

Re: FSOL - Music for Three Books / Music from Calendars

Interesting, some good tracks on the calendar album but other than Surrounding the Garden I probably listened to Dox 2, Petroleum, and track 5 from the 2018 calander the most. Third time out for Riverbed as well.

Re: FSOLDigital Calendar

Just flipped over to December in my AA calendar and wondering if there is any news of a 2021 calendar? I really look forward to getting these tracks every month, especially during these challenging pandemic times.

Re: RSD 2020 - Cascade 2020, We Persuade Ourselves... MPB Remixes, PNG (Weatherall Remix)

I bought Papua New Guinea on cassette when it came out and I hadn't ever listened to the full Weatherall remix version until just now. The cassette edit didn't really do it justice. Also, I only just noticed that Kooner and Burns are credited so does that mean that this was essentially the first Sab...

Yage remix of Min-Y-Lan

https://min-y-llan.bandcamp.com/track/s ... ed-by-yage

A new Yage remix of a Min-Y-Lan. Great track, not very Yage like though when compared to the recent stuff. It sounds like what I would imagine an FSOL/Plaid collaboration would sound like.

Re: Archived 9 - out 5th October, and other upcoming release

Slow Moving World sounds like it uses part of Antique Toy which makes me wonder if it is Dead Cities era, the vocal snippets also remind me a little bit of dead Cities. Apart from the Calendar tracks, which were great the first time around, standouts for me are Ocea and Without You It's Meaningless....

Re: Noel Gallagher/AA album thread

Whoever said this would turn up again in 5 years was way off the mark. Shoot A Hole Into The Sun was great so I would still like to hear some of the tunes from the sessions, but the way he trashed the album has tainted it a bit. The AA deserved better. https://tonedeaf.com.au/noel-gallagher-lost-sol...

Re: Lifeforms vinyl repress - October

Not sure of this is the right location for this, but the repress got a decent review on Resident Advisor.

Classical FSOL project sounds exciting. Anyone keep track of how many albums they currently have in the works?

Re: Archived : Environmental : Views (RSD release)

I'm really enjoying each of these but Views is a great listen from start to finish, even the previously released songs work better in the context of this album. I over I played Viewed from Rosey's Perspective when I got the album so I'm surprised that didn't make it onto the CD. Archived is a great ...
