Re: Fractional Difference - Exploring FSOL song-by-song
I have a question about Herd Killing: in the album version (which is a shortened version)... On the compilation "Wipeout 2097 / Wipeout XL" both tracks are "We Have Explosive" & "We Have Explosive (Herd Killing)" this is a digitization of the first two tracks (&quo...

Re: RSD 2021 Releases
Stasis Field - Dubby beats, field recordings, wah-wah guitar. Some guitar chords I recognise from somewhere but can't recall. Chunky and atmospheric. From the first listen of WHE2021 it reminded me of Blackhill Transmitter. Today I finally listened to it and I'm pretty sure it's the 11th track, Rec...

Re: Fractional Difference - Exploring FSOL song-by-song
I was expecting such a reply (about it being a casualty), but it's funny because for sixteen long years (from 1998, the year I started playing Wipeout 2097, to 2014, the year I became a FSOL fan) Herd Killing was "that sound". And then it had been removed! I'll give a chance to Part 4, of ...

Re: Fractional Difference - Exploring FSOL song-by-song
Ross, once again, I have to let every post start with a gigantic acknowledgement of your work. I have a question about Herd Killing: in the album version (which is a shortened version), and in the 2021 reworking it seems to be a missing sample; it's something like a female voice moaning (or, at leas...

Re: Mind Maps - look for promo today!!
Well, Ross, that's what I was hoping for. I get your point, Offland, but my approach to FSOL is, as Ross knows, "only full-lenght albums, with all or almost all tracks new for me" (so, no compilation of already released tracks). And, as far as I've read, this is the case. So, Ross, I've ne...

Re: Mind Maps - look for promo today!!
I have a (stupid) question: I retrieved all the FSOL releases that I had missed (calendars and recent reworkings, from 2018 onwards). As you may know I collect only "proper albums" (and compilations only if they contain all new tracks, or almost all new tracks). So, is Mind Maps an "a...

So this started out as an EP but now it became an album, didn't it?

Re: Fractional Difference - Exploring FSOL song-by-song
Hi Ross, congratulation for your work (but I told you so in another board of another band, you know). I have just a question: as far as I know (source: Pande thread), the first two Zeebox have been released 5 days earlier than the first three Archives, but in your Discography they follow them. I kno...

Re: Fractional Difference - Exploring FSOL song-by-song
It's been seven years since my Second Thought site went offline, and three since I accidentally buggered up the Wiki, and I have no place to document my thoughts on FSOL. Moreso, there isn't anywhere online that has a detailed, up-to-date discography of everything they've done. The best at the mome...

Re: FSOL on Wipeout 2048?
Pande is still about on Facebook, moved to Canada with his family a year or so back, I think he's still busy with the whole settling in thing. I still see Dell's name pop up occasionally on the visitors list. Craig is still about on social media, he recently relaunched his LooseLink project after a...

Re: RSD 2021 Releases
Aha, been waiting for the announcement. Yes, WHE is the latest in the re-recorded EPs. Don’t know about the tracklist but I’d imagine we’ll get at least one previously releases track - Exploded Funk or Abandoned Housing Blocks of Prypiat - alongside a bunch of new tracks. I’d be surprised if we did...

What's the third appearance of Propagate? Beside the Calendar and the Archives...(I miss something, but owning "just" the full-lenght album I MUST miss something)

Re: enrico berio mixes amorphous andogynous
the thing is, gaz says these messages of freedom from slavery to these imaginary technology overlords is what he’s trying to convey in his music. for me there’s a line and once an artist crosses it I cant enjoy their art without imagining the bullshit they talk. when I think of amorphous now I imme...

Re: enrico berio mixes amorphous andogynous
It's a very interesting question. In my view, we should try to separate the art from the artist, as long as the art is not influenced by the artist views we do not like. For example, I do not like a single thing that Gaz writes on Facebook, but his music is mainly instrumental, so it's not a problem...
