Re: FSOL and Literature

One thing I've always wondered:

Is the book "The Psychology Of Facelessness" (as mentioned in the Dead Cities booklet) by Philip Pinn completely fictional? I remember surfing night after night (in the 90's) and searching info about this book, but can't find anything..

Re: What are you listening to?

DJ Food - The Search Engine (2012), inspired by the remix thread.

Listening right now, pretty good, very different from his (their?) previous work that I've heard. Also the newest Papercutz album! What a find! Could be the best album this year so far.

Re: Noel Gallagher/AA album thread

Alright, I've listened to SAHITS a few times now, and gotta say.. good, very good, but definitely not their best work Maybe I just don't care for the actual song itself.

I'm sure there will be better tracks on the final album. And I sure hope that Noel's FACE won't be on the cover

Re: The official HERD thread - H3D Binaural Spatialisation T

Cheers Triptych - I think I'll try those emulations. You'll have to invest massive 29€ to get the Nebula, or 139€ to get the Pro version which I recommend, new engine, better CPU usage. It's a PITA to learn to use and takes a few days to authorize, but you'll get a hold of some really, really rare ...

Re: The official HERD thread - H3D Binaural Spatialisation T

@tryptych> I like listen something fromyou man! I've done a bunch of music, but I can't really complete them since I'm running such a crappy computer, the plugins & synths are fairly CPU heavy. Currently saving for a proper i7 setup and audio interface.. doesn't come cheap. ->Herd, i really rec...

Re: The official HERD thread - H3D Binaural Spatialisation T

Ah, the art of mixing... a lifelong journey. I've never had the chance to try actual analog desk, but I'm now using the recent emulations by Nebula (that use completely non-linear algos, different from any VST plugins), very expensive pro desks, like API, SSL and Neve, and I have to say: I absolutel...

Re: Has anyone purchased from fsoldigital?

Alright, I've recently stopped collecting mp3's and moved on to FLACs since I woke up to the realization that mp3 cuts above ~19k! Completely unacceptable.

So is there any way of knowing what formats are available @ fsoldigital before the purchase? I was thinking of buying the new Seafar EP.

Re: What are you listening to?

D&B used to one of my biggest loves.. stuff like early Goldie, Boymerang (lesser known), Arcon 2 (of course), 4Hero. Nowadays the whole scene is overrun by this crappy dubstep and the soul and depth is mostly long gone. There are still some people making good, deep, DEEP tunes like Seba & Pa...

Re: What are you listening to?

Plaid definitely fall into the 'stuff I really don't get' territory, absolutely no idea what's going on there. Have to agree, never really got into them. Maybe just a bit too minimalistic and "elektro" for my taste. I do have the Tekkonkinkreet soundtrack, which has a few tracks I really ...
