Re: Small makeover to fsoldigital
Rumour has it the next release through FSOLDigital isn't anything I've mentioned on this thread.

Re: Free netlabel music
Xan started music by making the Berlin School style stuff and the more ambient/experimental direction is a fairly recent one, but from what I gather he's going to be focusing on that for a while now - I agree with you that it's his stronger side.

Re: Akkya - Abandoned Future Perfect
This is actually fantastic, a wonderful FSOL/Orb/KLF ambient collage vibe. Would be nice if you could join in a bit more though so this isn't quite so spammy.

Free netlabel music
I was going to start a Jerky Oats thread, but decided against it as I try my hardest not to be too self-indulgent (and generally fail), so thought I'd resurrect Tim's netlabel thread in which anybody can post recommend free-to-download albums and EPs that they think people here might like. Try to ke...

Re: Gaz writes in Mojo on Pink Floyd
Indeed, the 'punk' route tends to avoid Floyd. That's punk in attitude and approach rather than just three chord shouty music, of course. I actually think Animals is more punk in spirit than most of the famous '77 punk albums really, other than possibly Pink Flag. And I reckon The Final Cut is a far...

Re: Hi its Will (Scottmedia) from FSOLLIST
'Tis a shame, back in the day I used to get 20-30 emails a day discussing the ins and outs of FSOL's music - much more in depth than we ever go here. Most of them were fans from back in the Accelerator days, lots of stories and rumours about the group and their associates from the 90s.

Re: Hi its Will (Scottmedia) from FSOLLIST
Howdo Will. Did the FSOLLIST die? I haven't received anything from it in years and the last time I tried to send a message in (telling people about Environments 2 I think) it just bounced back.

Re: Gaz writes in Mojo on Pink Floyd
Ah. I've heard them described as the worst band of all time on more than one occasion. Lots of people tend to prefer the more raw/direct approach and find Floyd a bit on the overproduced/slick side of things, and that's something I can completely relate to, as I find myself thinking that about Wish ...

Re: Gaz writes in Mojo on Pink Floyd
ha! final cut is the worst imo. it's like leftovers from the wall and has no rick wright....essentially a waters solo album All correct, I just love the melodies and the piano/string arrangements, and lyrically the first side (with When the Tigers Broke Free in its rightful place a la the CD versio...

Re: Gaz writes in Mojo on Pink Floyd
It's not often enough (in my experience, at least) that people comment on that lyrical slant of Floyd, of the dawning realisation that life isn't the wonderful experience that we're led to believe it would be, of the resignation and acceptance of oppression and corruption. For years I listened to th...

Re: EBS/MPB/Kiss/Radio 1 Mixes
Officially, no, I think the whole idea of the FTP re-appearing went under when they opened The Pod Room, released The Pulse EPs and so on, it wouldn't have been worth it. There's no storage site for unavailable FSOL material anyway. I have no idea if any of the sets have been pirated anywhere else.

More music from Drift. Really looking forward to this one.
I wonder if Moment of Levity came from the same sessions as his remix of my track Tekeli-li. Some familiar sounds there...

Re: Loose Link Thread - Next Release: "Karramantha"
Wow, this one's... weird. Completely mad collage that heads off in a completely different direction to how I imagine it at every possible chance. Good stuff.
