Re: Environments 6

I still struggle to remember which track the drum patterns from "I dream in viral blue" is taken from. It definitely reminds me of some other FSOL or AA track.

Re: New AA album - Facebook updates

And everyone was buzzing about the 13 years it took Tool to release a new album, but Gaz'n Brian easily even top that :)

(Ok, not really, we got countless FSOL-releases, Peppermint Tree, Cartel, and whatnot. Am not complaining... :) )

Re: When FSOL were a cheesy 80s electro duo...

I could have sworn, from that blouson and leather-jacket the guy on the right is wearing, the guys were from the nineties, but this seems from about 2 years ago :) Seems to be a german postpunk duo, musically quite ok, but nowhere near the "Laser Cowboys" :D btw. just rewatched the Laser Cowboy-Vids...

Re: Humanoid - Built by Humanoid - out June 2019

Fantastic album. Reminds me a lot of Ae/AFX in parts but with a stronger, erm, "humanoid" touch... :)

Re: What are you listening to?

I like most of the recent Black Dog albums, all mostly straight forward, detroit-influenced old school techno with hypnotic melodies. "Further Vexations" is my favourite, absolutely mesmerizing. And I absolutely love "Spanners", one of my top ten electronic albums of the 90ies, it has an incredible ...

Re: Yage 2019 - RSD release

Nice coincidence, today my CD finally arrived :) I listened the album also a lot in the last days (bought the download too) and I must say, i really like Hallucinations/Ayahuasca a lot better now, it really seems to belong here on this album, on FTA1 to me it was just an average track among the more...

Re: Yage 2019 - RSD release

I haven’t got the CD version yet as I need to justify to my head getting up early to queue on RSD! I do get a rush from doing that and picking up difficult to get stuff. Yeah, can unterstand that :) But you have to get the CD version, at least the download because the two bonus tracks are fantastic...

Re: Yage 2019 - RSD release

I like especially how they incorporated the bonus tracks into the mix this time, so they form a proper album ending unlike the AEV-album, where they feel a bit attached after the actual ending.

"A sensation of vagueness" is fantastic.

Re: Yage 2019 - RSD release

Yeah, pretty solid release. Unlike the My Kingdom Reimagining with its AA touches, could this have been easily released back in 97 or 98, it really sounds like a lost ep from the Dead Cities-era, with its psychedelic funky break beat sounds.. Still those guitar riffs in ayahuasca and bejing give me ...

Re: Yage 2019 - RSD release

Sounds like a rather difficult release. Really curious, how this will work all together. Never was the greatest fan of the "bejing" version and hallucinations. It seems, that Yage 2019 starts as the original album track and then developes into something new, like the my kingdom version from the rema...

Re: What are you listening to?

Devin Townsend - Empath I've been enjoying this guy för quite some years now, and this album here is nothing more than his masterpiece, a totally insane, incredibly detailed production of a completely-over-the-top-progmetal record. Even quite some IDM-touches, but in a more metal-kind of way. For an...

Wasn't there a yage ep planned back in the day after Dead Cities came out?

Re: Yage 2019 - RSD release

Nice. Although I never was too keen on those Yage reinterpretations like the hallucinations versions or ayahuasca from FTA 1 or EBS. The original track from Dead Cities is among my favourite FSOL tracks, but those remixes always seemed a bit inferior compared to the otherwordly bliss of the original...

Re: What are you listening to?

Aleksi Perälä - The Colundi Sequence Vol.1 & 2 First stuff I hear from this guy. Thought these compilations might be a good starting point. It's really good, like it's 1993 again :) Heavy early Aphex Twin-vibes of course, but also with its own note. From what l read this guy released about a ton of ...
