Re: new boards of canada lp

I'm of the few who really enjoyed TCH, find it almost equal to Geogaddi, I get caught in that sunny, holiday-like atmosphere every listen. The production on it is so cinematic and lush with lots of details hiding in the corners. I myself had no problem if the new one goes in that direction with a bi...

Re: Soo...its gone quiet

"FSOL changed their cover photo" says FSOL facebook page. I think I will wait with getting excited, I'm not even sure if this fb-site is official. But maybe there is a little chance that this actually could mean something... Edit: Oh no just noticed it's only a fan-page, it would have been...

Re: Pande-reviews: 1993.1 (Tales of Ephidrina, Curve Mix)

Not entirely sure, but I always thought the flutes on "Kinky National" by 808 state are samples themselves from someone. There are lots of quite famous soul/jazz samples on the whole "Utd. State 90" album, just recently heard the song from which the theme of "Sunrise" i...

Re: new boards of canada lp

OMG, that ebay shit is really fucking ridiculuos. So I definitely agree, they ARE in fact overhyped to the max. But beside that they make some really good tunes..(at least to my ears ;) )

Re: new boards of canada lp

Hm, I definitely think there's a kind of a certain magic in boc's music, that almost struck me immediately from the very first listen of 'music has...' & 'geogaddi'. I came across them quite late in 2004, and liked it instantly more than almost every ae record from around that time. Those hazy, ...

Re: new boards of canada lp

Tychos "Dive" is great, kind of an easy listening version of boc, more the bright and shiny 'folktronic' side of things.

Re: new boards of canada lp

Yeah, this news made me very excited as it doesn't seem to be another bad joke again... I like almost everything they did, they're among my favourite electronic music artists. I myself gave up hope after all those years they will come up with new material, so maybe there is also hope with Mr. R.D. J...

Re: What are you listening to?

Ah 'Nodens Ictus', still have to get this one. They only made one album, right? I love the sounds and vibes Joie Hinton created on early Ozric's records, so I'm almost sure this one is for me. The only ozrics side project I had a listen to was some 'eat static' record that I didn't like very much, c...

Re: Pande-reviews: 1991.4 (Smart Systems, 100Hz)

Haha funny, I always thought it's Gaz doing that rapping on tingler.

Am just listening to "by any other name" cd and was noticing that the Visual Attack thingy is actually just another remix of 'tingler', but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong...

Re: Pande-reviews: 1991.2 (Pulse EPs, Intelligent Comm.)

Ha, so 'Jaques Renoix mix' refers to Jaques Renault I assume.

Question: Is 'Owl' a different version on the Pulse ep fsoldigital cd than on the 12"? (btw I love that track despite its old-schoolness. It still kicks ass.)

Re: PANDE

Concerning Aspartam: I saw a documentary flm recently with the title 'Our daily poison', about aspartam and similar sugar substitute substances. If only the half of it is true what they stated there, those substances are pure poison destroying your nerves, genes, and producing cancer. After having w...

Re: PANDE

Just read this, sounds really horrible, but I hope you are not offended as it really sounds serious, but I just couldn't resist thinking 'A Monstrous Third Egg Exploding In Your Scrotum' wouldn't be a good title for a dj mix...

Re: What are you listening to?

Magma - K.A.& Emehntett Re - after 30 years they completed their album trilogy about alien races and egypt mythology with 2 albums consisting of one 50min song each. The sheer complexity and beauty of this music is simply breathtaking. It took me a bit to get into it, but it's definitely worth t...

Apart from that R&S thing, I´m afraid no...

I guess that means they´re busy in the studio working on further excursions into the sound of one hand clapping, producing unheard sounds from the 3rd ear dimension ;)
